Mortgagefreeby50 hope our sister is ok yes it takes a long time to realise you just can't get them to change and you need to preserve yourself and get outl

Catchark88 agree it's great to know they will be safe (fingers crossed for a nice home and I will check with the breeder of course). My neighbour has been over today and yesterday and he was passed out and then on the phone so didn't notice a thing.

I've emailed FIL and told him what I need for the monthly bill payments which he has agreed to pay straight from the company and also pay the cleaner who I'll sort out to feed the cats as well when she comes in once a week..

Hopefully FIL well agree or ex dh just can't stay in the house without paying anything. They don't know I have access to ex dh bank account so if worst case scenario I can just help myself provided there's money in there. I'm not telling them and I wouldn't actually help myself but might pay some bills.

At work we are still doing the restructure and have now got the people who opted for voluntary redundancy. It's not quite what we wanted but can't be helped. My manager then started talking about the timing for advertising my potential new job and that it might have to be after the Summer as you don't get many candidates in summer but I was then asked to leave which was fine.

They had said it would be advertised now with interviews end of June but I doubt that now. They know when I'm on leave and the date this job ends so it's up to them. I want to earn the job fair and square so a month without a job wouldn't be a disaster but I need some assurances don't really want job advert going out in September I would like to know before then. We shall see. We also have a new project starting that needs volunteers plus I'm not sure the person I'm covering is coming back full time immediately so she would be quite busy without someone in the new role plus it would hold up the changes we are planning.

DG is out having golf lessons from 9pm to 10pm she's so keen it's lovely won't be long until we can play proper golf together.

Spending wise I've been a bit bad chocolate bars and snacks and the weekend was expensive but still looking solvent until payday but that may be because I got paid £200 expenses back before they are due on the credit card I think I best pay them off. Anyway enough waffle that's of reading and love the comments really nice to be back on MFW

Things ticking along here work busy but no news yet on when the job I want will be advertised. I had to spell it out to one of the team leaders I work with that I was going to apply he just didn't get it but when he did he immediately offered to do me a reference which was nice. I line manage him now but I wont be in my new job although we will still work closely together which is really nice.

Father in law managed to get ex Dh to the doctors tests results are in on the 10th but they might not tell me of course. He is not happy I want to increase the pay of the cleaner from £20 to £30 to give meds to the cats and make sure they are fed on a Friday. We have had the same cleaner 20 years and she has been paid £20 for at least 10 years. I have spoken to the cleaner she doesn't mind putting up with drunken ex amazing and she does love the cats that I know and they know her. I will just pay her the extra directly.

Moneywise I have paid off the tickets covered by work on my credit card and the vet bill so bill is now £118 but I do need a monthly travelcard before pay day so the final bill should be around £250 next month which I wont be able to clear with this months wages. I will have £80 left until pay day 2 weeks away but that should be ok as food will be paid out of joint account. Next month I will do the min £190 into a savings account and although I always pay my credit cards in full I would like to clear them with the same months wages still this is an improvement on last month where I was in my free overdraft.

In work nice and early got volunteer in to help me so better get prepared for him coming in.

    Hello TG

Nice to see you resume your little diary.

It has been an eventful year, but I think overall a good one for you. You could not have helped exDH any more, there comes a point when you are only doing yourself damage, so you have to put yourself first.

many congrats on finding happiness with DG.

I would hang on to the house as well if you possibly can.

Although it's different, there are similarities. Mr Bugs died a couple of years back with dementia and it was a relief, sad as well, but overwhelmingly a relief. The man that he had been had long gone. I think in some ways exDH is like that by the sound of it.

    Take care
    Bugs

Thanks Bugs so sorry about your Mr Bugs but you are so right the person you knew is no longer there and although alcoholism is an illness it is frustrating as he could have had help and he could have turned his memory loss around but he didn't want to doesn't think he has a problem. Dementia is so cruel but at least that is not self inflicted which I feel my ex dh is.

Yes I am very happy with DG we are off to play golf this evening that stops us from drinking too much on a Friday night. I don't drink much but if I do its a bit of vodka and coke binge on a Friday but not tonight.

Well back to work 1 team is kicking off due to their redundancy letters so best deal with that.

You should be up in the North West TG, it's gorgeous weather, sun is shining.

Good luck with the redundancies, not an easy thing to deal with:(

Been a really nice weekend finally did get the really nice weather today wow it was hot.

Been a quite low spend weekend a £16 pair of much needed shorts cheaper then proper golf shorts which would have been £45 and I can't find anyway. Sad to be buying size 16 again. The new Snoppy DVD did sneak into the weekly shop as well.

Played golf just pitch and putt Saturday cost £4 and we brought our own drinks so cheap cheap.

Today DG was having golf lessons first of her improves course but it got cancelled. Unless they start I next week she won't be able to do them all as we are away I do hope they do. We ended up playing proper 9 holes on the same course bit hectic as there was a lot of people out and she isn't quite ready neither are many of the others but still fun and lovely weather. That cost £28 between us with 1/2 price green fee so cheap again.

Done some gardening and all the washing plus made lunches for next week so time to chill then early night.

Got £118 on my credit card with £130 to be added for travel card for June that will get paid out of next months wages. £92 left in current account with £40 still to come out that's going to be tough but I'm sure I can do it only 1 1/2 weeks to payday and joint account pays for food.

Then savings starts properly for June although it would be nice to know when work is planning on advertising the job I want to apply for. I've got enough leave for Denmark so if it starts say 1/9 I would be three weeks out which isn't bad but I might be longer. Hopefully they will let me know soon. They might be waiting for persons I'm covering to come back but that's not until 4/7 so cutting it a bit fine.

Hope you've all enjoyed your weekend I'm off to read some diaries DG is watching some crap telly.

    Morning
Finally email ex FIL re paying for cleaner he said he would get back to me. Problem is ex DH is going to run out of money soon as they are no longer paying him guess it will be ex FIL problem if the cleaner doesn't get paid. DG and I were talking about and alcoholics who are desperate for the next bottle often turn to stealing when they run out of money but before that they sell all their possessions. That scares me a bit but there isn't really anything in the house that would be that easy to sell no electronic gadgets possibly a few things ex DH owns like his watches, golf clubs (4 brand new drivers) etc but he is quite attached to his things we interesting to see. Sad to say but maybe if he does turn to stealing he will get arrested and be back in court (he got done for drink driving a year ago) and that might make him wake up and decide to stop. I feel like he hasn't hit rock bottom yet as he is being cushioned by ex FIL but that will stop hopefully. Sad so sad how a successful and intelligent man can destroy himself so quickly.

In other news I still have money in the bank actually not touched it tonight is gym so although I need milk and maybe something to top up dinner (salad and chicken already prepared) it will go on joint account. I haven't gambled since I got back on MSE which feels great (I used to do £10 at least twice a week).

Loads of work to do hence in early and staying later as I have volunteers coming in. Still no news about my job but everyone is so negative (I know its tough with the restructure) but even the teams that are ok and have got increased funding are moaning about the extra work they have to do. Honestly you cannot win. We are applying for the MSE charity I need to read the draft proposal today.

Thank you elleandie much appreciated and I agree we only get one chance.

Last night was good in terms of going to the gym (both of us) but bad as we had a take away. Now it could have been worse we could have eaten in the posh fish and chip shop which would have been over £30 with soft drinks in stead we had to child's portions which were plenty big enough so total spent was £12 of the joint account.

I now have £52 to last me until payday on the 15th and £250 on the credit cards which is nothing compared to a normal month. Really pleased with myself glad I am back on the MSE waggon. Set myself a target to save £22K this year should be doable even if I am out of work for a bit just have to be good.

DG is also much better she now has £1000 saved for the first time in her adult life. She does owe £550 on a catalogue 0% for a laptop but she is paying that off. She really wants a Kindle but she is going to sell her Ipad mini she doesn't use although it does have a small crack in the screen hopefully it she wont have to pay any extra to get a basic Kindle. She owes me £100 for our flights to Denmark so I am actually better off than it seems.

Tonight it is gym and then easy dinner as DG is off to her free golf lessons. She is totally mad about golf which is nice but the weekend looks like rain so we shall see if we get out. She isn't ready to play on a big course but I do actually miss playing.

Right on with work it is still a bit moany here due to the restructure and I got my welcome pack for the University course I am doing. I have to ask my peers, managers and staff for feedback for a 360 exercise. I am going to get some stick I bet due to the timing of it but will be really helpful.
