Right time to reflect got my post from new year 2013 with comments about my 2012 goals thought I should post them again and use this to reflect where I am now.
I looked at the first post and these were my goals for 2012 so lets refleck and see how I have done.
In general:
Gym at least twice a week
Comment from 2013: Done really well here I have managed almost 3 a week and still really enjoy it. Only managed one run in SA but did play golf and swam in the pool. Only put on about 2lb or so.
Golf once a week
Comment from 2013: Done ok here as well in the Summer at least took me a long long time to get going as MIL died and everything but played 6 times in SA and althoug I did not play yesterday and wont next Sunday this one will carry on next year.
Alcohol 8 drinks a week max
Comment 2013 This one has really stood out for me I remember really struggling to do this but when DH got diagnosed with liver problems in early August I almost stopped drinking. I did have quite a few largers in SA but only 2.4%. Wine is always a spritzer now so I would say I am down to 2 or 3 max low alcohol drinks a week now. So pleased with this one and put credit this for my weighloss as well as Darren of course.
No spend on gambling - no new casinos.
Comment 2013 This one is not so good hence the red colour. Really not stopped and although I did put a blocker on my laptop when my PC got fixed in December I did fall back in. Going to pay for a block for the PC and really stop this time. Dont want to loose anymore money and want to succeed in the new MF challenge on here as well.
So 3 out of 4 arent that bad lets now make a list for 2013
Keep going at least twice a week to the gym incl working out with Darren if he comes back.
Golf at least once a week also in Winter
Keep up only drinking low alcohol or max 2 drinks a week
No gambling at all - full stop.
So here we are in 2014 and I can hand on heart say its 3 out of 4 again this year. Been going to the gym at least twice a week and working out with Natalie (Darren left)
Golf at least once a week and played right up to early December and will play again definitely on the 10th Jan.
Alcohol pretty good during the week but have had some blow outs on Friday nights with work but actually don't mind that so much as I usually end up driving so it's not been that often.
Then we come to the final one yes I still gamble and I still waste lots of money on it. I do win sometimes but I need to stop as once I sign up and have money in my account I cannot stop. I really cannot afford it and really wish there was a game blocker on my IPad. Will look to see if BT offer a game blocker now the broadband will be my own. Ending the year with no debts but not much left of my £12k redundancy package I got in April.
Ok end of post will look to set goals for 2014 in a bit. Need to get up and have breakfast.
How rude forgot to wish you all a Happy New Year.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Plan to move to Denmark for FIRE by Autumn 2025 “May your decisions reflect your hopes not your fears”

Been thinking about my New Years resolutions and haven't really come up with any other than make sure I move forward and not back in particular with regards to DH and the drinking.
I went to see the alco centre myself Tuesday spoke to a chap for about an hour. They can offer me some family support group which I am not sure off I may or may not. They cannot take DH on unless he agrees to give up totally. He would have to do it at home or residentially. That is why he has not got a follow up appointment so I have made him go back today on the chaps suggestion I think the two options are stop with their help or cut down with the support of the AA. DH is not keen on either but at least he has gone back and will wait and see what he comes back with. I am pretty sure I want one of those twos and if DH doesn't well then that might be it.
In other news DH and I have both paid £1000 towards the new boiler so that means that there will still be sufficient in the joint account.
Been tidying up and clearing kitchen and garage ready for boiler fit tomorrow. Ordered some seeds for Spring as I found a load of mine in the greenhouse ruin by water.
Hope your all having a relaxing day those of you not back at work.Save £12k in 25 No 49

DH came back agreed to no more than two beers a day in the evening. He says he can do it. Got rid of our drinks fridge so that will help but if he doesn't stick to it he has agreed to go to the aa meeting on Wednesday.
Let's see I'm not over hopeful and I have told him lying about things.
Been to the gym, baked a rye read and DH wants to go out for dinner. Fine he can pay after I've had a bath. Work tomorrow will be quite nice as were not open to the public and new training person starts tomorrow. I'm a bit scared of supervising her but fingers crossed she seems really nice.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Work was good new person started and I think I supervised her ok manager said I did so let's hope so. Went for a quick drink afterwards just the two of us talked about work which is nice and safe nothing too personal.
Got home just about 7pm so a scene of destruction the kitchen was one big dusty mess and the was he had fitted the filter meant the boxed in piping is now visible and no way of putting it back due to the new pipes.
Also 3 out of 5 radiators doesn't work and the ones that does a tiny ones. Called plumber and left a message after getting really !!!!ed of with DH who went to bed.
Plumber is back looks like a valve has gone which he is currently fixing (more cost) and he will move one pipe so I can get the pipes boxed in again. Will still have filter in new cupboard space but hopefully friend can sort that out when I get hold of him.
Weather bad and fence still down but will have to leave that not really bothered as it's around the side so you don't see it.
Finances rubbish and apart from then I will solder on.
Sorry for the depressing post will hopefully start getting better here.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Been out ms cost me £15 of my own money and went with DH as friend still ill.

Happy new Year TG, back online after the festive break.
Glad you no longer have to resort to cat heat to keep warm; reminds me of this cartoon:)

Good luck with knocking the gambling on the head. One of my ex managers had a terrible problem with gambling to the point of losing everything, it really opened my eyes. Obviously you are not in that league!, but if you can stay away altogether is probably better. My vice is chocolate, once I have some it goes on and on and on....:o
Good luck to DH as well. Unfortunately he has to want to, if he doesn't sufficiently, it will never work - it's a sort of all or nothing. I hope 2014 is the year he can commit.
I had a quiet Xmas and NY. Mr Bugs funeral on the 3rd, which was actually pleasant if a funeral can be. A lot of people turned up and the service was lovely and the wake was good to, so he had a nice send off. I'm looking forward to 2014 being a darn sight better than the last two years. Right off to tackle the mountain of invoicing from before Christma:eek:0 -
Thanks for popping in Bugslet glad you had an ok Christmas but I know that just because the funeral is over it doesn't stop there. Every day you will probably remember but hopefully you can at some point find a happy place for you.
Loved the cartoon very sweet all our heating is now working and a friend is coming around today to box in the pipes and make the new shelves as well as fix the window hinge. DH has been good 3 beers only yesterday.
Blood test at 8.10am so need to get a move on made lunch for DH and I am taking cold pizza dinner is from the freezer as I'm going to the gym. Went last night as well.
Supervising new person is going ok she is quite good will be busy today and tomorrow yesterday was bad four people called in sick or didn't turn up that's 5 out of 8 slots on the rota unfilled. My supervisors were brilliant though big stars and volunteers too.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Busy with lots of clients yesterday and manager had to book meeting with the problem member of staff she is picking the clients she wants and referring the others. I totally agree it needs sorting out.
My Uni course starts Monday it's 150 hours of study at home so need to book out the three hours a week I have got off work. Will do today as well as book leave and do expenses.
Kitchen cupboard build by friend so now have a three more shelves pure bliss also fixed our broken window £180 which isn't too bad it took him all day to do.
Expensive week hopefully it will slow down, still really want an iPhone so I can get my work calendar sorted but it can wait.
Got ms on Friday third one this month so nice to be back into that again. Anyway must get up need to make lunch third day in a row and DH has been good and eaten his. Sadly I'm not sure he is cutting quite down as much as he could.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Where did that weekend go - oh yes I remember went out Friday after work, stayed with friend was ill all Saturday and felt rubbish today too. I'm sure it was food poisoning.
Had a good time though and cost very little as ms.
Everything seems to have broken or stopped working today but mostly fixed now and new broadband up and running. Old account still active but unplugged now.
Sorted my induction out for Uni course just need one part I couldn't do today shouldn't take long and don't officially start until tomorrow.
Feeling a bit better about supervising people at work (paid staff) but this course will help even more. Will also give me some proper background knowledge for tackling problem member of staff.
Not spend too much recently but think my dd for my credit card was cancelled somehow and I cannot set up a new one. If I get charged I will call them and check what happened.
Still want an iPhone second hand they are about £200 for an 4s. Blackberry annoys me I particular vodaphones to pups and freebie packs can't do them on the phone so a real faff doing them on IPad.
Anyway bring on a new week and see what it brings.
Things broken and fixed today
Filter on new boiler
Broadband
Wifi
On demand sky box
Not fixed coffee machine and two months out of warranty
Also got three free bt sports channels sorted.Save £12k in 25 No 49
