That sounds great news, if they have that confidence in you. You always get people being upset if they feel their territory is being encroached on, all you can do is be as professional as possible and hope they rise to match you.

I took the decision to be offline at home some time ago and I suspect I maight have to take some time off over the next few days, which is nice on top of the fact that we will be on shut down for the best part of two weeks - yay! So if you don't see me around much that's why.

Thanks Bugslet I shall do my best to be professional about it and do have a lovely off line Chirstmas break.

My supervising session went well (young case worker) and the senior one (person who is super difficult) was actually helpful so there is hope. Manager popped in just after I left and I won't see her today as I'm on a course. Doesn't start until 10 so get a lie in. Need to pay my Christmas dinner money for party at club tonight.

DH didn't get nephews rugby top yesterday and looking online they are all sold out. Annoying to say the least. Running out of time to find anything.

I am determined to be good tonight as I want to enjoy Fridays parties so might even drive up there eventhough I could walk. Need to pack a bag for tomorrow so perhaps I should get up and get sorted.

Brilliant party at work my volunteers all sang a Danish Christmas song for me so sweet. Big rush to get to party in London but all went well and had a brilliant time. Went to bed at 1am but talked until 3.30am mainly about my marriage, it was really useful so when I got home to find him drunk at 3pm I decided I had had enough. I cancelled my Danish lunch tomorrow and instead spoke to his dad. He's coming down to have a chat at 10.30 and he will make a plan. DH is not taking anything serious so I have suggested he moves in with his dad for next week, gives me some space and his dad can keep an eye on him.

I think I'm at the stage it's he stops completely and get counselling or I am not living with him.

Watch his space I guess. Feeling drained need some sleep might make the spare bed room up.

I am really sorry that the home life is now going 'pear shaped'. Have you ever noticed that things can be going really well in one part of your life, but terribly in another? Hopefully, the break will give you the space you need and assist him to concentrate on what is important to him. This of course should be the relationship with you.

Good luck whatever happens. Sending you positive thoughts.

Thank you. After my last post things went even more pear shaped to be honest not sure I can even post about it. Long chat with DH and his dad today doctors tomorrow then another meeting Tuesday evening when DH needs to decide where he wants to go.

He is currently not prepared to stop drinking. So far he's had four pints today which is low for him.

Thanks things are looking up to be honest.

Suffered a miscarriage Saturday night knew my period was late by 10 days but then it started but quite faint. Saturday it get really heavy and I realised what it was. Feeling very weak but managed work and having a rest now. It's strange as five years ago we wanted to try for a baby but when nothing happened we didn't do anything. I didn't go back on the pill but had obviously at 43 given up. I am not upset this has happened as something was obviously wrong and it was very early. To be honest timing couldn't have been worse if it hadn't happened. There you go sorry it too much information.

Went to doctor with DH she had spoken to him recently which he hadn't mentioned. She agreed things are not moving forward as it is. He then agreed to alcohol clinic and went there himself this afternoon and had his first session. He said they told him to take it day by day and not promise too much but also not lie. He doesn't have another appointment but to call them after Christmas. I would have been happier if he had had an appointment but at least he went and he found it useful.

Sorry this diary is totally off the money saving track and I'm not usually in such a mess.

Sometimes, money saving is that last thing on your mind, or on your life agenda. You can't think about how to live within your means, watching the pennies when your life is going pear shaped.

Congratulations and commisserations regarding the miscarriage. The congratulations are because you can still conceive! Cause for celebration in my mind! Commisserations for the miscarriage itself. But as you say, probably not the best time; plus the body has a way of telling us that something is not right.

Did you tell Hubby? I hope he is ok enough to offer you support, although he appears to be fighting his own demons. The good thing is that he is taking it seriously and atending the clinic. Yes, I agree that he doesn't have another appointment until after Christmas. Lets hope that his desire to change can ensure ethat he deosn't overdo it during the festive season.

Stay strong, which you are! After all, you managed to go to work and to be productive whilst there!

Fingers and all my other bits are crossed for you Tall Girl.

Thanks I had to take the day off today I just couldn't get out of bed. Slept until 4 then my friend came over. DH is still being good he knows and has been quite nice.

Yesterday I got home at 5pm and I felt so bad I had to go straight to bed as FIL was coming down at 6pm. The plan was to go out for dinner but when I got in a ham was in the oven and DH had prepped veg etc. he has never really couldn't but I felt to crap to worry about it. Got up just after 6 and dinner was really really good so that was nice.

This evening we went out for dinner with FIL DH had told him today about me he said some nice things and manager also texted lots of times checking I'm ok. Need to go to bed as I'm starting to flag hopefully I will sleep and wake up feeling better.

At least I only have two days left at work.
