Hi Granny, the new hotel did indeed have some nice toiletries, and was also well stocked with various coffee sachets, including decaf. It wasn't so well stocked when I left though.
I'm going to declare today as Charity Shop Bargain of the Year Day. Can you believe I got a pair of leather Brasher walking boots in my size for 99p, I'm just over the moon, they're in pretty good nick too. My son is just horrified and thinks I'm going to get an FTD (foot transmitted disease:rotfl:).
Friends are arriving about 7 tonight for some tea. I have bolognaise in the slow cooker, and I'm about to do a crumble with the brambles out of the freezer and left over apples from the fruit bowl.
DD is in good form, she's managed to get some fixed hours at work which is making life easier. It was very difficult when she didn't know from one week to the next what days or shifts she would be working.
I'm still not keen on her BF though, he does seem to give her a hard time about stuff, and is not very supportive. She's not having any therapy at the moment, she says she is fine without it, so that's all good. Certainly she is coping with life now, I think the brain has just matured! Normanlly when I relax a bit and say things are going well it's a cue for it all to go t!ts up...!
The new Long Tall Sally catalogue arrived yesterday, and for a change there was some really nice stuff in in, which is a bit tempting. I do need a couple of polo necks for work for the winter, but I don't actually NEED anything else.
I have £676 left in my spending account, and 2 weeks til payday, so will be able to make some big over payments at the end of the month. Now in the bad old days, if there was any money left over at the end of the month (and there never was) I would be wondering what I could spend it on. - Its taken 46 years, but I think I finally grew up :TPay off Car Loan £17,047 £10580 by Christmas 2022

Finally got a phone call from DD this afternoon, they got a taxi back and she'd been asleep ever since. So no need to worry, flipping annoying she never thinks to call
Did any-one else watch extreme cheapskates tonight? It was funny, the guy who wrapped everything he owned in plastic to preserve it's value:rotfl:
Today has been another no spend day, and there does seem to be loads of food in the house. I'm not sure how many nights I might be away this week, so I haven't done much shopping.
Dyed my roots tonight, with the £1 hair dye from poundland, brilliant stuff that is it. I also realized that it is a whole year since I've had my hair cut, so I've probably spent about £8 on my hair in the last 12 months:APay off Car Loan £17,047 £10580 by Christmas 2022

Today was nearly a no spend day, but I was a guest at a friends house, so took some Waitrose biscuits for £3.50.
I'm working away tonight, so all food on expenses and some mileage to come in, but I forgot to turn the heating down before I left
I also forgot to put in my milage claim so it will have to wait until next month now, but at least I can't spend it.

I had a wonderful weekend away, although not a particulary cheap one, but good value for money. £73 for all the activities and camping over night, and another £25 on food and drink.
This week will be a frugal week as I'm on a course and won't have much time for spending any money.
Payday next Monday and I still have oodles left over, which should go straight off the debt, but you know the impetus for paying down the debt really disappears when it's all on interest free, and my bank accounts are paying up to 5% interest - oh wait, that's called stoozing!!Pay off Car Loan £17,047 £10580 by Christmas 2022

It's useful to look back a year and see what I was doing this time last year, Struggling to stay in budget, DD had just had her interview for MD's, and my old car had a leak and a soggy floor. Oh and I had just dropped below the £15k mark. WOW in the last 12 months I have reduced my debt by over £10k and spent £3.6k on a new drive. That puts things in perspective,
I today paid £234 of MBNA, that just brings it below £600. Technically speaking the money would be better off in my current account which is paying 5% interest. However psychologically I think it is better just to keep paying down the debt. it's like when I had 9 debts, I didn't always pay the highest interest first, preferring to pick away at the smallest debts first as they seemed more achievable, then I broke the big debts into smaller ones eventually getting everything on to interest free.
So how is my holiday list going- [STRIKE]Fix the hoover[/STRIKE] - it's not working properly and I don't know why - done but not convinced its at it's best

I was just about to start on my new website today, thinking what a lot of work there was to do, when out of the blue, and very strangely I got a call from one of my competitors. She's selling up and wanted to know if I would like to buy her business, website, ebay account, social media, the lot. I was thinking that I probaby couldn't afford to, when she said she'd had 2 offers so far of £1000, I nearly fell of my chair. That is a silly low figure.
I will make her an offer tomorrow, thank fully I do have the money in my business account. It's a funny old world!!- Spends: £5 - Vase and sleeping bag liner from FB
- Remaining dosh till payday: Not sure I need to work it out still
