Try putting DSs phone in a plastic bag with some dry rice. It may work
Thanks granny, we had it in rice for 2 days, I'll try it for a bit longer though :)

Welcome home - great to see you again and sounds like you had a fab time, excepting the food

Was going to suggest the same as Granny - We did it to DS's laptop thanks to that advice on here and it worked again luckily.

Driving and cars is heading into expensive territory, only 3 short years until DS hits that stage and I'm already dreading it :rotfl:

Thank you frugalites, it's good to be back, and it was good to be back in the office today

I was hoping for a NSD today but had to get diesel, a necessity. I had miscounted by NSDs while I was away, it was only 5 not 7, so that's 8 to date, another 7 to go before the end of the month, as I joined the NSD challenge for November

DS was saying how one of his friends (male) paid to have his eyebrows plucked. I said I hoped he wasn't going to waste his money on things like that and he replied there wasn't a chance when his sister did it for free :rotfl:

Apparently she already does, news to me!! He was asking her earlier if she'd wax his back for him too. I mean, seriously, what is happening to the youth of today, he's 15

Today was a good day, 8th NSD day this month. We had some great news at work, we've hit our targets for the year already, so there will be a bonus in the spring, should be around £2500 after tax :j

Frugal things I did today was left overs for lunch and drove very slowly, averaging 75mph! I've also given up drinking tea so there's no 'rounds' to buy at work.

I booked some airport parking through topcashback, and have made a free eye appointment at Tesco tomorrow. I've been surviving off £1 reading glasses for £1land, but I feel I need a bit of a review, my eyes aren't too good, probably spending too much time on my laptop checking my bank balance!

    • Exercise: I did get up early and do some stretching and a 7 minute workout :A

  • Yes I meant mpg doh, and today I managed 76.9mpg :j

I didn't manage a NSD as I lent DS £130 for a new phone. He's got some stuff on ebay which should pay some back, and the rest I will take out of his allowance.

I went for my eye test today, free at tesco. They said I just need some stronger reading glasses. No prescription required, I'll just buy the cheapies

I signed up to the Christmas saving club at work today, £100 a month taken out of my wages from January. So next december I'll have £1000 for Christmas, kids birthdays and hopefully a bit left over.

Not much else to report today, day off tomorrow, DD wants to go Christmas shopping
