  • Date night was predicably boring. I have been chatting to another guy though and he sounds lovely, and he drives a jag, which might just indicate he has no money as he spent it all on cars lol! Any way we are meeting on Thursday, and I hope he's as nice in real life as he is on the phone.

I spent most of last week looking for my debit card, then sussed that I'd left it in sports direct buying new footie boots for DS.

Today I was out so all food on expenses and a lovely milage claim to go in,

DS back to school tomorrow, and all I've had to buy is the footie boots and 1 pair of trousers, so pretty good really considering the amount he's grown this summer.

I haven't seen DD for a few days, hopefully tomorrow

Paid 53p, the 'spare change' in my current account off the BOS card.

Note to self: Making a payment a day to a credit card is useless if the payments you already made reduce the monthly payment

On the plus side I am working away all this week so CHEAP week for me, nice hotel, free toiletries and its going to be 27oC tomorrow :D

  • Well I'm feeling rather sorry for myself today. Still working away, but have an upset tummy and was up half the night on the loo.
I've decided to stay in the hotel today, it would be dangerous to venture out I fear!
So I have a little time for browsing the forums and contemplating my finances.
You might know that I'm really struggling right now with motivation, the urgency to pay things off as gone, and I have wasted money over the last 6 months.

So for a little planning, remind my self of what has worked so far

    • Spending diary - I MUST restart this, and not from the 1st of next month, as soon as I get home
    • Meal planning - when I get home I will do a stock take of the cupboards and freezer and plan my meals
    • Packed lunches, since schools went back I've given DS dinner money, and haven't taken packed lunches myself
    • Halifax rewards - since I've paid off one of the credit cards I don't have 2 direct debits on my Halifax account so I'm missing out on the £5 a month bonus
    • Dating, have stopped, cancelled my account and will not look again until my debts are paid.
    • DD owes me £80, I should get this back in October
    • Have a another ebay sweep
    • Do NOT book any weekends away or commit to any holidays for the next 6 months
    • Stock take the Xmas drawer and make a Christmas list
    • Make some more videos
    • Focus on part time business
    • Check Views Bank and Pine Cone for surveys
    • Check bank accounts every day
    • Post in my diary more often more positively and stop wingeing!
OK, that'll do for now, I come over all tired so off for a snooze

  • I've returned home having 5 NSDs in a row :j
Spent £2.51 tonight on a few bits in Aldi. I still haven't got my appetite back, so had a couple of oatcakes and cheese for tea.

I put out a request on our towns facebook page, to see if there were any local cycling groups. It appears not, but there were a few other interested so I appear to have started one . Only 3 of us meeting up on Sunday, I'm a bit nervous, I hope I don't get us all lost lol.

So what frugal things have I been up to

    • Caught up with viewsbank £2.74 in credit
    • Checked pinecone and have missed about 10 surveys - oops
    • Restarted my spending diary
    • Checked bank accounts
    • Positive post in my diary :)
    More to come tommorow

There's some changes at work, my role has been devalued a bit, it feels like a demotion in some way although there's no change to pay and conditions, but it makes me nervous for the future.
There are a couple of other opportunities that have arisen, one would be a payrise and better benefits, although more stress and responsibility, and I'd have to relocate to Shropshire, the other would be working with some-one I don't particularly get on with, Maybe I'll sit tight for now and see what other opportunities come up.

    Tasks for the day

    • [STRIKE]Washing on[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Food stock take[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Meal plan for week[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Shop[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Clean inside of car, filthy[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Coffee with DD. An expense but necessary one as she's gone back to old boyfriend and he's a tit, so I need to keep close to her[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Old phone on ebay[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Exercise (I have a 7 minute iphone ap thing)[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Return some business calls - new leads[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Buy petrol for the lawn mower[/STRIKE] Didn't need to as I already had some :)
Also I know I said no more weekends away, but I joined a meetup group, definitely not a dating thing, just a social activity group (http://www.meetup.com). I've already been on a bike ride with them which was great fun (cost a whole £1). They have a weekend activity event in October, caving, abseiling, hiking and gorge scrambling, £73 plus food and drink ????

That's in addition to the ladies walking weekend I'm doing at the beginning of October, although that's already paid for way back (£20), food and drink to pay for, but that will be mega cheap, probably under £20.
Oh and a night out next Friday with some friends and my brother celebrating our birthday

I do need more of a social life, especially as my best pal is all loved up at the moment and a bit unavailable! But the meetup weekend will probably be the best part of £100 if not more, and its camping on October brrrrr

So stuff to get on with and decisions to be made. have a good one every-one I'll be back later xxx
