Aaw thanks guys, it means so much :o

I got a text today to say that the window on my rented house was smashed. lazygitdriveman says it was next doors gardener, however I haven't spoken to next doors gardener yet and I really believe it was more likely the lazygitdriveman, who did actually turn up today to lay a whole 20 bricks
So I've got that to pay for - cue emergency fund

    Insurance?
yes thanks, insurance could be the way to go, I'll get a quote first and see what my excess is.

Well another massive mile stone today, my 'prize' came through, $1000 came to £547 after paypal fees, and I've paid that straight off the MBNA card leaving me with less than £5K in debt. :j

Lazygit drive man has actually been quite busy this week, hopefully we can park a car on there soon for the first time in nearly 4 months.

The rubbish that happened earlier in the week, I decided that I could do something about. Some-one had spoken to me really disrespectfully, as they were a customer I didn't want to say anything, and I hate confrontation any way. I decided that they really shouldn't get a way with it and spoke to her yesterday, saying the way she spoke to me upset me and I didn't think she should speak to people like that. Guess what, she apologised!! She has gone up in my estimation, and hopefully we can move forward with a mutually beneficial working relationship. :)

I really think that getting out of debt like this gives me extra confidence too, being able to manage my finances like a proper adult is a comfortable place to be.

Spent 35p on a side salad at work to go with my 15p yellow sticker miniquiche.

On Sunday DS and Ex are off on holiday for 10 days, so I'm moving up to stay with DD and the dog. Should save me a bit in electricity etc and hopefully there's a freezer full of food in!

No watchers or bids on my ebay listing, I'll need to get more creative

Right off to surf the net for money saving ideas, I'll post my weekend todo list tomorrow

I know I could reduce things further by not having sky, reducing the groceries and DS pocket money and ditching the cleaner, but I work long hours and want to spend my spare time doing something other than cleaning and gardening (trying to justify the extravagance now lol) and I'm really quite happy with that

Some excellent bits of news in there, well done and under £5k of debt now too :j:j

On your SOA, Child Benefit is now £82 every 4 weeks...and we get 13 of those a year, it works out at £88.83 per month (or keep at £82 and the 13th one as a bonus) :D

So pleased your customer apologised, way to go. :T I think getting debt free does bring a feeling of freedom in many ways - confidence, hope and happiness. Choosing change, looking forward in a good way. :)

Enjoy staying with DD and eat her out of house and home for a change :rotfl:

Thanks Ali, I'd forgotten child benefit is paid every 4 weeks and not monthly!

    Jobs list for this weekend

    1. Clean up blue glass and relist on ebay or fb
    2. Clean out fridge
    3. Clean out cutlery drawer
    4. Clean out cupboard under sink
    5. Business stuff up to date
    6. Go for a bike ride (holiday in 3 weeks and I've done naff all training!)

Taking DS into town for a haircut for his hols, and we'll get some lunch too, then date number 2 this evening.

Have a good one every-one, I hope the sun shines x

What a lot has happened since my last post!
I went shopping :( jeans and holiday sandels for DS, dress, 2 pairs of leggings and a pair of shoes for me. I'm not telling you how much spent, but I went over what was in the clothing pot by £72.90, so I've taken that much out of the drive fund to cover it. It'll be that long before he finishes the drive anyway it won't make much difference.
I found a garage yesterday with diesel on sale for £1.27 a litre - how cheap is that, so I filled up.

I didn't go on the date in the end, I went to my mates BBQ instead and had FAR too much to drink, I'm feeling a tad delicate today. I took some food from the freezer and bought 3 cans of cider for £3.50, would have been cheaper from Ald! but they weren't in the fridge! Not bad for a night out tho, and cheaper than a date.

DS and Ex have embarked on their holiday. Ex gave me £100 for food while they're way. I wanted to say don't be daft I don't want the money, but my MSE side took over and I accepted it!

I guess I'd better tidy up here and make sure everything's switched off before I move up the road for 2 weeks. I'm going to have a gorgeous staffy dog to look after too, looking forward to it, a change is as good as a rest they say :). Just remembered there's no dishwasher though :(

  • Be very wary of buying cheap diesel. There's always a risk that it's laundered red and can mess up your engine.
