I love everything about my kitchen.

We had a wall taken out to make a kitchen diner and also had a window replaced with French doors in the dining side.

I love my island with the two bar type chairs, I love my large American Fridge/Freezer with ice & water dispenser, I love my range cooker with 5 rings and two ovens & grill, I love my mosaic tiles and the wooden floor.

I'm also lucky enough to have a large utility room so washing machine and tumble dryer are out there, although we do have to keep the door leading to the utility room closed when the washer is on as our kitchen/diner is open to our living room.

Actually, the only thing I'm less keen on is we have a right hand drainer because of where the fridge/freezer had to go and we have very little room to the left of the sink and the tap is on the right and it can be a bit of a pain.

I waited about 14 years for my kitchen to be done how I wanted it and it was well worth the wait :D

Wow you all have such lovely kitchens, some of them are stunning!!! Luckyyyy!

Haven't got an up to date pic of my kitchen, only one from when we first bought the house.
But.. I love my hanging saucepan and cooking pans shelf..
And I hate the size of it. It's small and there's not much work top space!
Married my wonderful husband on 8/9/12 :j
  • I love my integrated appliances that are hidden from sight - including a big fridge/freezer with the freezer underneath so day to day things in the fridge are at eye level.

I love the big drawers I have that fit all manner of things in them...easy to pull out and find what you're after.

In my last kitchen my favourite thing was the induction hob - they are genius and I'd love to have one again.

I hate the high gloss modern finish on the cupboards- it is a nightmare to keep clean, every finger print shows up and when you wipe them down you also have to buff them dry or you end up with streaks, grrr.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

I love the size of my kitchen...I've only ever lived in flats with a galley-style kitchen, so to have one with loads of workspace and room for a dining table/chairs is great.

It's lovely and sunny, too. :)

Nothing I really I hate about it to be honest. Now if you'd asked about the living room, it'd be a different story!

LOL @ teaandcakeordeath - "Hideous cat hairball coloured tiles." :rotfl::rotfl:
  • I love my cooker, it has 8 burners and 2 ovens as well as a separate grill.

I also love the fact that everything except my fridge is built in to a cupboard.

My fridge is an American fridge freezer and we couldn't build it in but I quite like it on show as its easier to get to the water/ice dispenser.

I loved us planning my kitchen and I really do love it all.:)

    Enjoy :)
Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p

Is the right hand drainer really that bad? I was thinking of having my drainer on the right hand side too to free up some worktop space. Just now I have my worktop divided into 3 small prep areas but by moving the drainer to the right hand side I would get rid of prep area no 3 and make prep area no 2 bigger.

Thanks for all your answers, everyone. Your input is highly appreciated. I especially love seeing pics of your kitchens although I do get jealous a bit!

I love the fact I've got loads of cupboards. Hate the fact it's a freezing room in winter!

Those tiles would have looked so much better on a diagonal. Lazy tilers!!

No it's not that bad, it just took a little getting used to as we'd always had a left hand drainer. The only thing that irks a bit is when my family put a chopping board or something large on the drainer and I have to move it to get to the tap, actually the tap being on the right probably irks me more, but as I say, it's just getting used to something that's on a different side.
