Bed runners - what's the point of them ?

Mine is a whole large throw folded over to create a runner effect. But when it's really cold, I throw it over the quilt.
    So thats one point.

I don't like photographs, especially of peoples' weddings or babies. I do like pictures, mine are all originals :)

I wonder if anyone has any of those words in the bathroom saying 'bowels' or in the bedroom saying 'copulate'? Seeing as how we need reminding what one can do in those rooms ?

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I want one of these!!!! On my toilet cistern!! :D:D:D

I don't really see the point of photos everywhere, especially of us and the kids, we see each other every day!! I have got a large(ish) framed photo on the wall in the front room of my mother and aunty when they were children from about 1948, which used to be up in my grandmother's house (I inherited that and a back scratcher :o). I've also got a small framed photo of my mother on her 50th birthday which is on a bookshelf, but as she's no longer with us I feel I'm allowed. I don't really understand people (and I know afew) who have large canvas-type photos of themselves and their kids all around the place.

I don't have any cushions on the bed (pointless, I've got pillows!) but I do have afew on the settee and chairs and they are well used. I bought two new ones afew weeks ago, quite large black and grey ones with a picture of a manual typewriter on (I know :o) but I really liked them when I saw them in the window of BHS. I definitely felt my age when I went with DD (10) to buy them and she saw the design on them and said "what's that a picture of"? OLD!!!!! I wonder if, when she's my age, they'll be making cushions with pictures of ipods on?

And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end

It's only 6 cushions, a throw & a headboard, in an otherwise white/ cream very large room. Actually it's the one shot of colour in the house.

I wouldn't call that " doing deep colours", more a small splash of an accent colour.

I just don't get it either. They talk about 'dressing the bed' which is strange to say the least. My bed is only seen at night when I go to my bed to sleep so why would I need it to be all fancified? My bed has two pillows, one each and when on holiday I get fed up having to throw pillows and cushions on the floor.

  • I like cushions on sofas, there's about a dozen on mine because the sofa is HUGE and they make it much more comfy. But cushions on beds? No, they're utterly pointless and I think they're a blinking nuisance. I don't have any trinkety, ornamenty rubbish but I have a large and possibly sad collection of tea-light lanterns. Bought one in a religious-objects shop in Athens years ago and that started it off, but they all get used regularly, so to my mind have a practical and justifiable purpose. Chacun a son gout.

Bed cushions are great for nest building. I have two big faux wolf fur cushions and they are so snuggly.

And candles are very MSE as they give off a lot of cheap, psychological heat :D

No I suppose not, but I make it look like a bed runner. It's not normally as high as it is in the photo.
