Perhaps when we have our new BG*** (hopefully someone around in the day time) they might have some time to alter the titles to the correct format before all the bumping? or perhaps when a BG see's a comp needs to have the correct title once they have done it take off the bumped posts if that's possible for the BG's to do?

It wouldn't take long to edit the titles but who is going to check first if it is a dupe or self-promotion? Would a BG want to spend time like that (bad enough to have 2 other boards to do)

    Good point,

    Urmmm ....

will put my thinking cap on :rotfl:

I was surprised about needing to take on three boards  would of thought it better to only have one board to concentrate on & know about then surely it would be better BGed?

    Edit:

People are probably think which two other boards they would like to BG on

alot of so called regulars post links without asking for the op to amend the title. Also why do people thank posts that are totally wrong? doesnt it give the wrong impression to the op?

the actual editing titles doesn't take long and we do if it's just a case of no 'E:' or no space between 'E:' and the date, but like you say checking it's a legit comp takes time plus if no one has posted an end date, that would mean extra work searching the comp for T&Cs if we can even see them without registering/signing up for a newsletter etc

This maybe a daft question :o

But how do you search to find out if it's self promotion?

I'm guessing you search the comp site to see if you can find the persons name listed but apart from that I have no idea

Thanks for that i thought you could edit titles but I wasn't sure. So should we pm a Bd if a comp has gone into GO for not having correct title if we have found the end date?

ATM they are often getting reposted which can lead to people duping themselves etc.

Usually it's fairly obvious. Newbie poster with a username which either links them to the company/site running the comp or their real name. If I'm bored I would then google the name and it usually comes up on something like linkedin.

The guy from something free first posted the comps himself and then got a friend to do it. That came up on conned by comps on facebook. I think that is still happening with a different username now being used but they have finally worked out not to use their real names.
