Hi
I have a neighbour who works as an assessor, over a BBQ she told me that in her area there are two assesors and they are at least 5 months behind,
She hates it but they have few staff and with holidays....

Really impressed with the speed of it as I thought it would take a lot longer and that I'd get nothing and have to appeal. Exactly two weeks from assessment to decision.
I realise that your posting is a little dated, but for a matter of interest did you send in any evidence? All I have is the repeat prescription list and can't afford the cost quoted by my GP for a copy of my medical file.0 -
hi, going through process at the moment from DLA to PIP and just got letter back saying it will take up to 16 weeks as there is a delay and people over this 16 weeks are taking priority.
this is in the Brighton area.
Yet the DWP have said today that more postcode areas are starting the migration a month early. Including mine!(c) Broke in Yorkshire. ( there are worse places )
Those that matter don't mind and those that mind don't matter!0 -

Yes I did, copies of hospital letters, prescription list, Certificate of visual impairment and other stuff.
Do you have any hospital letters or anything like that?0 -

Thanks. No just the appointment letters to attend a clinics, outpatients, and which wards to go on. These come from 5 different hospitals up and down the country that I have to go to.I did have at one time all of the discharge letters after surgery, hospital admissions and A&E attendances, but those were got rid of as being of no further use as being out of date (more than 2 years old)0 -
I sent no evidence other than prescription list.0

You can type it (see Melbury's thread re pip form, some good advice in there), but could you possibly get someone else to fill it in for you? You could try CAB, they seem to have a pip form filling in service & is often mentioned here & elsewhere.
One thing I did for my son is keep a daily journal of how he lives & the help he requires on a day to day basis, this seemed to go down very well as evidence at his assessment, I obviously made it very clear in his case that it was my observations & that I had written it.
In his case (although it was a transition from DLA to PIP) it took 9.5 weeks from form submission to assessment, dwp received atos report 4 days later, then took 3 days for a decision to be made, so all done within 11 weeks.
I don't know if you have joined action for m.e or ayme (for people under 26) but they have been so helpful over the years & the forums have helped me (as his mum & carer) sane.
Good luck0
