if she is awarded PIP, then it will be backdated to when she initially made the claim.
when they say ' its with a decision maker', it can be a bit misleading.
it doesn't mean they are looking at it right now, but that it has been processed and its waiting for a final decision to be made, along with a lot of other claims.
it shouldn't be much longer now though, because they've finally speeded the whole system up.
it may well be, that if an award is made, that money is paid into her account before she receives the letter0 -
Thanks, she should get it as the support worker left me a note saying that they said she will get this benefit, just not sure how much. She said that the assessor could tell that she was an ill woman, the PIP said on the phone that I should hear in 2 weeks and the support worker said 2 - 3 weeks 2 weeks ago so just another week or two to go now I guess for her!0

To be clear - if this was a migration from DLA that started a year ago, there will be no backdating at all.
Only if it was a fresh PIP claim.
If it was a migration, PIP payment starts 4-6 weeks after the decision, and is not backdated.0 -
SUCCESS!!! My mam has just been awarded Standard Mobility and Enhanced Daily Living! There is supposed to be nearly 6k as it's over a year's back pay in her account tomorrow! Will it definitely be in tomorrow as it's over 5k?!0

Bit of advice please... I am migrating from DLA to PIP (hopefully).
My DLA ends on August 29th. I was sent my PIP2 application form early May and was contacted by DWP on May 19th saying they had received the completed form and I have subsequently had my assessment with ATOS on June 1st. I've yet to hear anything further.
Should I be concerned that I've not heard anything yet? If so who is best to contact? I don't seem to have a number on any paperwork.
Thanks for any advice0 -
Sent my form off at the beginnig of May, had the assessment a couple of weeks ago and got a letter the other day with enhanced daily living. Really impressed with the speed of it as I thought it would take a lot longer and that I'd get nothing and have to appeal. Exactly two weeks from assessment to decision.0

I put my application in on 15th March 2015, I did get a letter of acknowledgement 6 weeks later stating that they had received and that it was being passed on to Atos, I telephoned Pip to see what was happening on 20th July, I was told that my application was still in the queue!!!! it is now 5th August and still nothing, does anyone have any suggestions to what I can do next?0

Hi, i put in a claim for my partner as her condition has got worse, i wrote everything out as she has club hands absent radius (bone missing in both forearms) so her grip is bad with locked wrists etc, hip dysplasia, slipped disc, severe anxiety attacks, bad migrains, she is in a wheelchair and uses it at home and outdoors because her hips grind and lock and she is in alot of pain, also she cannot propell the chair herself because of her arms so i push her all the time. I have to do all the cooking, cleaning, wash her top to bottom, brush her teeth and hair, basiclly everything as i am her full time carer. I had to take her for her assesment on the 31st july and gave it a week before phoning for a update, I have phoned every 2 days and all i get is its with the senior health professional and audit stage. I phoned yesterday and it was last looked at 10.30 am and the guy said he rekons he will be sent by the end of the day and to phone the end of the day which i did and the woman said its in the final audit stage. The reason i am phoning them every 2 days is because my partner is worried she will lose it, she is getting really bad anxiety attacks, bad chest pains, she is not sleeping (and me) she wont go out etc. Anyway could anyone help us please?? Am i phoning to much? Are they putting her to the bottom of the pile bacause i am phoning? Any help and info would be very much appreciated. Many thanks0
