hi. just wondering if anyone had a rough idea of how long claims take please. If anyone had already claimed and payment is now being made how long? I had waited 11 weeks untill i rang pip and got atos phone number and contacted them direct to chase up my appointment, of which i got a cancellation (yey). If i ring pip they just say as its a new benefit they cant say how long but estimate is 10 weeks. tuesday will be bang on 3 calender months since i originally claimed.
thanks0 -
Put my claim in in july 2013 5 atos appointments cancelled by them finally had my assessment on 13th january still not received by dwp getting fustrated one hell of a back pay if awarded 29 weeks to date taking pure p*ss now bloody joke0

Finally! 6.5 months since I applied and 3.5 months since assessment, my report is finally with the DWP. No decision yet but at least I know I don't have too much longer to wait. Now fingers crossed it's a positive outcome.0

hi,letting you know the latest on my wifes claim, she received a letter from mp today, stating that her claim should be sorted by 10th feb 2014,mp stating that she has had a verbal argument about time taken to sort pip claims ,dwp,s response was sorry, benefit exceeded take up and atos and capita were caught dosing,so I wait and see what happens next week as my mp has said is still with auditors, heading towards 8 months and still no sign of claim being sorted and my wife had no answer except depression,anxiety,pi----ed off.0

Please tell me there a light at the end of this very long tunnel.
I'm twenty two. Have many different illnesses that have stopped me doing all the things I love and make it really difficult on me n my partner so I applied for pi in MAY 10TH 2013. Had my assesment with capita in October after waiting all that time and still waiting
Yet I have a friend who applied after me didn't even send her form bk which was due in July. They still proceeded with her claim had her assesment in nov ( which she was made to hand her form back to the assessor) so it was all sorted in one go. Then she called around to tell me she's been awarded and had a massive pay back. But the think that's really got on my nerves is she still works. But she's gonna quit now!!! How can that be I've waited all this time and still nothing I'm struggling. N I'm getting no help. I just don't get this system.0 -
hi,sorry your still waiting, your approaching 9 months and my wife been waiting approaching 8 months and being dealt with by capitashit, still cannot understand what the delay,s all about, think it,s dwp tactics0
-
This delay is not really the fault of the DWP, as they seem to process things quickly enough when they get the forms back from ATOS or Capita.
The delays are that ATOS and Capita assessments are all being audited, which is causing huge backlogs and waiting times.
At the moment, there are very few benefits that have not been driven into chaos by reforms that were rushed through but weren't properly thought out.

Neither PIP or DLA is about working or not, awards are based on care and mobility needs, so the fact she was working would have no influence on the time it took.
It seems a matter of luck how quickly things are bring dealt with, but you can phone them and ask where your claim is, in the system, at the moment.

hi,dwp rang my wife this morning ,explaining that her claim has been lost in the capita,s audit office, they are hoping it can be found ,otherwise my wife will have to be assessed ,this whole thing is a mess, and them at fault do not care, what I cannot understand is why the government allows these contractors to carry on the way they do,it,s madness,my wife is upset and beside herself and not talking to anyone now.0
