Sorry, but just thought I'd ask again.

Did anyone get a letter similar to the one I quoted on post #193 above?

I didn't, I know that they didn't contact my spinal consultant but decided I needed a medical off the back of my form, maybe they have adapted their crappy process so it feels like at least they are moving your claim along?

  • What i would like to know is if DWP cant cope with New Claims for PIP how the hell are they going to cope moving people from DLA to PIP?

i take it that while people move from one to the other they will still get full DLA and bet they will not take as long with them then new claims.

Totally agree. It will be chaos come Oct 15. How can they cope with reassessing 2 million people on DLA?

And, this morning, via various newspapers, Duncan Smith compares himself to William Wilberforce, because 'he is freeing us all from the slavery of receiving benefits'.....:rotfl::rotfl:

I am not sure if he is deluded or just thinks we are....:wall:

Hi all, just thought I would say don't give up anyone. I applied for PIP back in July, had an assessment in November and then my claim went in to audit.
I have just recieved a letter confirming I'll be getting the standard rate from date of application.
I did ring ATOS around ten days ago and asked if there was anything I could do to speed it up, they said no but they would ask if my claim could be looked at, and if there was no extra information they were waiting for if it could be processed. They did tell me I couldnt 'jump the queue though'.
But anyway, v pleased and gave me a bit of hope....

The last I read on another welfare rights site, was that the start would probably now be delayed past that date.

Obviously, Capita cannot cope properly, ATOS are permanently in chaos, so neither of them could cope with a wide scale transfer of all the indefinite DLA claimants.

They are also now saying that 'the most disabled, with evidence' will most likely be done by paper assessment, as physical and home assessments for all would be impossible without a total meltdown of the system and the tribunals capabilities to cope.

This looks like going the way of Universal Credit - all big ideas and then the system unable to cope. :wall:

My MP replied to my email on Friday saying he's made a formal enquiry with the DWP. I won't hold my breath for him getting any other response than others here but I live in hope of an imminent decision!

My health has deteriorated the last few weeks but I'm not going to rock that boat, enough of a nightmare already.

I don't think it's the DWP that is struggling, it's atos/capita that don't seem to have a clue what they are doing. Unfortunately for people making new claims to the new benefit, we are the guinea pigs. It's my guess that moving people from dla to pip will be delayed, maybe by the time it does happen the creases will be ironed out. It does baffle me how two sets of people can qualify for the same benefit, essentially pip is dla, with different descriptors. How did they get away with changing the 50metres to 20metres?
