Well, progress at last on my intervention/renewal. A decision has been made, letter send today but it hasn't been uploaded to the system so she couldn't tell me what the decision is.
So now to feel sick until the brown envelope drops through the door.0 -
Second application- missed standard daily living by two points!!! Got zero points on both last time so total 10 points definite improvement but still some unbelievable inaccuracies. For example I have food phobias and phobias of choking (I won't repeat what it causes me to do as its not nice but needless to say it causes issues) this means I need prompting to eat and I also need prompting and supervision to make sure I take my medication as I'm scared of choking on it. But because I can hold a knife and fork I have no issues with eating (what that has to do with my choking phobia I have no idea) and also I allegedly 'know why I have to take my medication so I have no issues with it' (again what that has to do with my partner having to stand over me to make sure I a) take it and b) don't choke is beyond me) I have no issues with communication as I can 'speak to friends and family' (well doh yes, it's strangers I have an issue with) and I 'engaged well with the assessor' (no I didnt, I didn't look at her once- I was a bit scared of her to be quite honest) and the best one- I can read a public transport timetable. What?! I have numeric dyslexia and that would be impossible. I never once said this.
MR is in currently but I'm going to fight this one to tribunal!!*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
I finally have some news. Thought I'd call and see if the letter was on the system yet. It isn't, or at least the operator couldn't access it and wasn't convinced the letter had been sent so said he'd send an email.
I think at this point he was ready to end the call but my mind was unusually sharper than normal so I probed further!
I asked if he could see a claim end date at all on his system, lo and behold he did, 2018! I then asked if he could see the payment amount. Once again, eureka, the same as it already is (standard care). If I could have I'd have kissed him (even though I was the one that worked out how he could see if I'd been reawarded).
Incredibly relieved, just to wait for the letter to confirm now but hopefully I'll start sleeping better now.0 -
Hi all just thought id update after I went to tribunal tuesday.
I was originallu awarded 8 points for daily (standard rate). And 4 points for mobility (no award for mobility).
I asked for reconsideration but was turned down so went tribunal Tuesday the people were lovely one said things wrong I think to maybe see if I noticed but I corrected her (maybe she does it to try trip people up).
After I explained the parts I appealed which I only mentioned daily living I didnt want to push my luck with mobility they asked us to go back to waiting room and within 10 minutes I was asked to come back in and told they had changed my claim from standard daily 8 points to enhanced daily 23 points and standard mobility 10 points. So I am so glad after 15 months its finally over.
They also mentioned they were not happy with the Way I had been treated throughout my claim.
I would urge anyone who doesn't get the result they believe they are entitled to they should go to tribunal and appeal x0 -

Pleased to hear you've had some positive news but terrible that you've had to go through another stressful process. I hope you slept tight last night.0 -
why is it unfair?
you were receiving the DLA award until you chose to declare a worsening in condition.
if they had decided not to award you PIP, would you have been happy to repay all the DLA you had received whilst you were waiting for an assessment and an award?
surely you should be pleased that you had a good result rather than complaining that it can't be backdated?0 -
how very un friendly of you. i didnt choose to apply for more i got spinal cord compression and am now paralysed also have tracheostomy DID NOT CHOOSE THAT i would much rather be working in mental health as i was trained to do.Obviously i appreciated the 21 pound a week i was getting but there is a big difference. why so nasty was i asking you for the money? i still think it should be back dated and YES i would have paid back if i had been overpaid. i really dont understand why people like you are so judgemental0

i also do not class my severe disability and needs as a good result0

i am also disabled and really aren't that keen on being blind.
you can only expect to receive benefit within the rules set, and for DLA transfers to PIP there is no backdating. just an award from the date of the decision.
you don't have to like it, but it has to be that way as many people will see a withdrawl/reduction of benefit amounts and backdating would leave them with benefit overpayments0 -

Nanny tone your attitude and even your typeface is aggressive we are all in the same boat and requiring advice tone it down0
