    Hi

Just joined this forum I applied for first time for PIP in April 2014 my first Assessment appointment is the end of January 2015 9 months after first applying. I think this is terrible I have rung DWP, I have rung ATOS all to no avail 9 months is ludicrous. Still have to go though assessment so still no idea how much longer until I hear a decision? I am very nervous about assessment, as I am a person what just gets on and works round my restrictions - I develop systems to get where I need to. Have motor & peripheral neuropathy so my walking is very compromised and causes me agony to my back trying to keep myself balanced. This effects my day to day activities, walk like I have had quite a few.... after this experience I think I could do with 'em as well !! Any advice or timescales would be appreciated

Contact your MP! I first applied for PIP in July 2013 and finally had my f2f in June 2014. I was still waiting for a date for the f2f when I got my MP involved. I finally got an appointment (at home) 3 days after my MP called them. I was granted Std Care & Enhanced Mobility at the beginning of July. Good luck and hope you're able to get a quicker appointment and a favourable result.

It's not PIP but DLA. I posted my change of circumstances form for DLA on 20th November and got told my result yesterday. Am pleased it went through so quickly as not my previous experience.

    On all
Between the original call to decision last Monday was 16 weeks and we got mp involved it was a forced migration from DLA to pip, wife ended up on top rates of pip as equivalent to top rates of DLA face to face was at home on 1 December DWP received report on 8 December and decision on 12 january have you a carer who can be with you at assessment and is it a home face to face asessment
Natural to be nervous ad my wife was but it wasent too bad, if you dont have a decision y 4 weeks after DWP get report get your mp involved
    Good luck

Hi, I applied for PIP Sept 1st 2014 and I'm still waiting for an assessment. Was just wondering if I might get a decision without an assessment, like I did when I applied for ESA? I have no idea why I didn't get an assessment, thought maybe it was due to the remote location of where I live?
Was just wondering what the average wait time was between call and assessment? Thanks x

Phone the DWP. I did yesterday and I'm glad I did- Capita do the assessments in my area and it turns out their computer system had returned my case back to DWP as I had waited too long to have it actioned. DWP have requested it sent back to Capita and ive actually got someone at Capita took it on herself to check when it's on their system so she can get me in for assessment ASAP.

she should have still received DLA until a decision was made on her PIP claim.
did she ask to change over or was she 'invited' to?
    when did her DLA a
stop being paid? ( if it did stop)
