awarded high rate care and low rate mobility for 2 years - I had my renewal a year before my original award was up...... I did include absolutely every medical letter I had received in the previous 12 months....they did remove the mobility component completely.

Hey, you were awarded standard mobility for 2 years, then 1 year later when you renewed it giving loads of medical evidence, they took it off you? Have your mobility problems disappeared? Seems rather strange if your mobility is no better/the same/ maybe even worse than it was when you received your first award.
Mind you nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to the DWP. I had High mobility indefinite for 20 years with my DLA award. Due to the problems I have, my mobility becomes more difficult as the years go by, yet the DWP have told me that when I put in for PIP, I don't have any mobility problems - so no award!! The same went for care. I had Middle care from DLA yet PIP say there is nothing wrong with me that I need care for. They even told me that I didn't have care needs for the Attendance Allowance. Ended up with nowt!! Closed the book on them, you just can't argue and win when it comes to the DWP.

    Thanks again.

    Hi

I received my copy of the assessment report today form 23/12/14. I didn't feel very confident coming out of meeting however the comments do seen to be very much in my favour. The last section states that an appropriate review would be 5 years as she has a debilitating condition which is subject to change and 5 years would be appropriate.
My only prob is I don't understand the weighting of the point system.

I'm hoping that I won't have to wait much longer for an answer, fingers crossed that I will be at the end of this stressful journey soon.

    Hi clairebear.

I have put in for appeal, i also am waiting for a response from DWP the dead line was today, and i have had nothing from them? i may give them a call tomorrow to see whats going on, as for a call back in 5 days, they said this when i asked for MR and it never came so i would not hold much hope for any call back.

I will let you know if i get anything of them.....and if they call me or not.

can you update in here so i can see please and ours seems to be around the same times.

    Thanks

    Hi all,

I had my appeal today at 3.15 the doctor that was part of the appeal did all the talking, very understanding he was.

I won! Got pip untill 17/07/2016

I had got pip before this appeal, but this appeal was about my mobility, as i had got standard mobility but i belive i should have got enhanced, well i do now,

The only down side is that when i first got pip it was till 2017 and now its been cut back to 07/ 2016

Good luck to everyone still waiting i hope you get pip, never give up guys, fight it all the way if you have to.

We got out MP involved, but made no difference that I could see. They just fobbed him off with 'its in the queue'

I think that MP's can only do something when the process has failed in some way. If it's still within the timescales given they can't do much to hurry things along, though I think it's important that they are aware of constituents' experience of the process. Especially if the government is saying that waiting times are coming down.

From my own experience, and others I've seen on here, MP's have been most effective when claimants have been stuck in the system and are being poorly communicated with or passed from pillar to post. Somehow they've been able to get to speak to or correspond with a level of management denied via the call centre.

Hopefully your family's wait will be over soon.

I can def agree with the above comments.

On Poppy12345's advise I wrote to my MP in November after been told to expect an assessment date of around May 2015 (13 months - long story)
New assessment date given just before xmas
    Copy of report received yesterday
Received confirmation letter today standard rate awarded back dated to April and no review until Dec 2020.

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, reading all these has helped me through my stressful claim.
    Thanks poppy12345
