    Hi all,

I had my appeal today at 3.15 the doctor that was part of the appeal did all the talking, very understanding he was.

I won! Got pip untill 17/07/2016

I had got pip before this appeal, but this appeal was about my mobility, as i had got standard mobility but i belive i should have got enhanced, well i do now,

The only down side is that when i first got pip it was till 2017 and now its been cut back to 07/ 2016

Good luck to everyone still waiting i hope you get pip, never give up guys, fight it all the way if you have to.

Wow that is amazing news so happy for you.
Makes me feel better about having to go to appeal.
Did they ask you many questions about your disability or what you dispute? X

Husband's DLA ran out on 14/11/14. He applied for pip back in June when invited to do so. Had a letter from ATOS saying they had received his paperwork and he would be contacted in due course. No further contact until a letter from DWP came saying that they had all the info and reports and would be in contact when a decision had been made. Not sure if this is a bad sign or not?
Anybody have any idea if the fact that he's not been invited for an assesment means refusal?
I should add that he has osteoarthritis and was on DLA for the pastv8 years. High rate mobility and low rate care albeit his care needs have increased in the last 2-3 years.

Hey, I don't know if this helps but I was on DLA for 20 years with regular reviews getting High mobility & Middle care - all indefinite. Applied for PIP in 2013 and had decision in April 2014 - no award/entitlement - DLA payments ceased despite having a medical.

Can I ask a really daft question but my mind is a blank, my PIP award is from 16th January paid four weeks in arrears so when will my 1st payment be?

I rang today to inform them of my change in medication and I was told that the info would have to go over to the benefits centre for them to consider. I've had no word on an assessment yet- does this mean anything or not?

    as posted here before
we got our mp involved last week as still no decision today is 6 weeks after face to face at home for my wife
mp told me that he made one call today and he gave them the decision there and then dont now if coincidence or if pressure from mp forced the decision
told us that my wife has been award pip enhanced mobility and care but could not tell me the time period of the award but said in the light of my wifes many severe problems would not be less than 5 years to review and more likely to be 10 years
phoned dwp who confirmed the award but say that have to wait for the letter to confirm length of award
i would encourage anyone who has been waiting around for a decision and still not recieved one after about 6 weeks after ftf assesment to get the local mp involved

Applied in October for my daughter who lost her sight suddenly. Assessment in March even with MP involvement. I cannot believe how terrible the disabled are treated by this government. I also cannot believe how little there is said about it
NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!
  • Hi

Just joined this forum I applied for first time for PIP in April 2014 my first Assessment appointment is the end of January 2015 9 months after first applying. I think this is terrible I have rung DWP, I have rung ATOS all to no avail 9 months is ludicrous. Still have to go though assessment so still no idea how much longer until I hear a decision? I am very nervous about assessment, as I am a person what just gets on and works round my restrictions - I develop systems to get where I need to. Have motor & peripheral neuropathy so my walking is very compromised and causes me agony to my back trying to keep myself balanced. This effects my day to day activities, walk like I have had quite a few.... after this experience I think I could do with 'em as well !! Any advice or timescales would be appreciated

My daughter who is and adult (23) is on higher rate mobility and lower rate care and had applied about 6 months ago for PIP has now finally got a interview next month its local to her thank God. I am going with her to give her support as she is a slow walker uses sticks and can fall. I hope they don't turn her down. She suffers from CMT
