  • I know this maybe of little consolation to anybody going through the PIP claim process but these DWP civil service union reports go someway to explain what's happening that may be delaying claim decisions/causing mandatory decisions. Seems staff maybe suffering just as much as claimants. As I say not much consolation but possibly interesting reading all the same.http://www.pcs.org.uk/en/department_for_work_and_pensions_group/dwp-news.cfm/pip-news

Need some more advice please.. Have phoned today for pip decision and have been told only awarded the standard mobility, it was the enchanced rate we needed due to all the mobility problems my son has, did send in recent consultant report detailing problems and letter from gp and also support nurse, have not yet RECIEVED the award letter but just needed some advice before hand.. How do I go about asking for the award to be looked at again because I really do think it should be the enhanced mobility, and as I have already sent in recent medical evidence would I need more again? And also do you know how long it takes? We had the home visit cancelled from capita as they said I had sent in enough medical evidence and did not need the home visit for assesment. Consultant detailed also about podiatry appointments due to pain in feet, and have also had doctors letters about painfull hips and has injections in hips for pain. Can not walk far and does need a lot of help due to extreme pain when walking and moving around.. Is it worth me asking for it to be looked at again? Or do they just stick to the award they have given? Any advice would be appreciated as I have had great help and advice from this forum...

Speaking from my own experience, when I had my face to face interview, I told the HCP about problems with walking, falling, pain, severe arthritis in my knees and spine and initially received no mobility whatsoever.

The date I received my awared for just basic care, I rang the DWP and said to them where are my doctors And hospital reports that should have been taken into account. They said they never received them. On the first/second page if your decision letter it shows what evidence they've taken into consideration. Make sure that they took into account all the reports you sent in. Give them a ring and explain briefly why you want a management consideration. If they have taken into account, sometimes the reports need to blatantly say what your son can and can't do.

I asked my GP to write a report in support of my application. I sprite him a letter explaining what I was applying for, why I was applying for it, and that I needed him to state in particular about my mobility or lack thereof. I printed of the DWP form highlighted what the qualifiers are for 12 points in the mobility and asked the doctor to specifically state I'm not able to walk more than 20 meters, nor can I do it safely (due to falls), or repeatedly due to pain, arthritis and falling over, or reliably? Thankfully the doctor did exactly that, and I got my enhanced mobility. So it may be you just need your consultant or GP to state that unequivocally.

    Good luck

Just called again to ask about my MR I was advised that a summery has been received back from health care professionals who looked at my claim again with my further evidence, was received back yesterday to the office, not sure what happens now? It's 8weeks so far, just praying it won't be long.

Does anyone know if you ask for a tribunal to look at the MR decision do they still keep paying money while waiting for tribunal decision?
