  • Hi im new here. I was just after some advice. I first claimed for pip in january2014 i had my assesment 23rd july 8 weeks later i phoned to see how it was going. I was told they hadnt recieved the one copy of the assesment. I had to phone capita to ask them to send it over to dwp. On the 3rd oct i was told a decision had been made and would here within the week. I phoned again on 13th oct to be told no decision made as of yet. I would recieve a call back within 5 days (never recieved one). I phoned again 20th oct at this point its 14 weeks since assesment they said would send email to decision makers and i would recieve yet another call. And suprise i never hsd a call. 31st oct i called again i thought wow they had got something on screen saying final payment of dla would be in bank on 4th nov and it was. Was told should here soon beens ive had that. 18th nov. no decision they said would adk for urgent call back. Told them im fed up of these calls that never come. 24th nov ive had enough ive asked to make a complaint and the woman acctually said what are you complaining about (what a joke). 1st dec nothing on screen said will phone me from the complaint i made and what would i like to be done today told him i want it sorted and ended up slamming phone down on him. Im just after some advice im at my wits end not sure what i can do now plzzzz help. Thanks

Hi guys , I'm new to MSE and Need some input. My chap has been on dla for several years and we are just going through the PIP change over process (renewal application is now with dwp decision maker as of 26th November) today We have received correspondence informing us about his Christmas £10.00 bonus. Would this suggest the pip application was successful and we are yet to be officially informed or is the bonus letter automatically generated. We are worried his payments will be revoked under PIPs strict criteria.
Hi, i'm guessing your partner is still receiving payments for DLA until a decision has been made on his PIP? You get the £10 xmas bonus on DLA as well as PIP, so it doesn't really mean anything, sorry.

Email your MP. They should be able to see what's gone wrong. It worked for me. Twice.

Need some more advice please.. Have phoned today for pip decision and have been told only awarded the standard mobility, it was the enchanced rate we needed due to all the mobility problems my son has, did send in recent consultant report detailing problems and letter from gp and also support nurse, have not yet RECIEVED the award letter but just needed some advice before hand.. How do I go about asking for the award to be looked at again because I really do think it should be the enhanced mobility, and as I have already sent in recent medical evidence would I need more again? And also do you know how long it takes? We had the home visit cancelled from capita as they said I had sent in enough medical evidence and did not need the home visit for assesment. Consultant detailed also about podiatry appointments due to pain in feet, and have also had doctors letters about painfull hips and has injections in hips for pain. Can not walk far and does need a lot of help due to extreme pain when walking and moving around.. Is it worth me asking for it to be looked at again? Or do they just stick to the award they have given? Any advice would be appreciated as I have had great help and advice from this forum...
My wife is currently going through switch from DLA to pip and had home assessment yesterday
Face to face went well but then ,y wife has multiple disabilities and been on dfla a long time and top rates
I read on another thread that decisions tend to be more favourable after a face to!face as opposed to a paper claim as the ftf gives them a better feel of the persons problems and suits the descriptors better
Ounlees you are claiming under the special rules of course
Fingers crossed my wife will be on the same rates as DLA, if not we will go for

    Hi
  • Here's a link to works and benefits newsletter. Some advice about PIP applications in light of an increasing number of decisions being paper based as opposed to f2f. Also a heads up on ESA forms being used used as evidence in PIp claims and vice versa and untrained DWP staff allegedly making decisions. May be of some use and explain some people's current claim experiences.

Still awaiting my decision of my MR getting so down and fed up as feels as though it's gone on forever( claim started 16 January, wrote to ask for MR in Oct) not sure when MR starts from,is it when I ask for it or once they received all my further evidence? Just feel like I'm never going to win

I'm sure it starts from when you ask for it. MR's are taking anything from 2-12 weeks at the moment. Hopefully you won't have to wait too much longer. You could ring and ask if they've made a decision yet. Good luck.

Could be amusing in my case then. They may notice a few similarities as have had to start a claim for ESA and request the care component of DLA be looked at as needs have increased and I'm not working due to ill health. As I did the forms at the same time I copied chunks of information across between them both and used the same depressing medical evidence.

Thanks poppy12345 I've been phoning weekly to chase it, each time I'm told it's with a case worker and they are just working through their workload.... I just have to be patient but it's so frustrating x
