Hi all, don't know if anyone will remember but I have posted questions on here regarding pip timescale, I have had some great advise from everyone.. Just another question please have been waiting for descision to be made from pip claim since the 6th October when all information was sent back to dwp from capita, have phoned today and was told a descision has been made yesterday 27th November ( at long last! ) but it is not on the system, does anyone know how long it takes to go on the system? Is it worth me phoning back late today? Many thanks...
I rang on the 26 November and they said a decision had been made, but they couldn't access it. So I rang the next day and they were able to tell me. So it should be ready for you now, just ring them back. Good luckEverything I know, I've learned from Judge Judy.

I've just been told by Capita they have sent my assessment over to DWP ,So to confirm they have received it I gave them a quick call they say they have the electronic copy but not the paper ? could someone please advise, do they need both for them to be able to make a decision ?0

Need some more advice please.. Have phoned today for pip decision and have been told only awarded the standard mobility, it was the enchanced rate we needed due to all the mobility problems my son has, did send in recent consultant report detailing problems and letter from gp and also support nurse, have not yet RECIEVED the award letter but just needed some advice before hand.. How do I go about asking for the award to be looked at again because I really do think it should be the enhanced mobility, and as I have already sent in recent medical evidence would I need more again? And also do you know how long it takes? We had the home visit cancelled from capita as they said I had sent in enough medical evidence and did not need the home visit for assesment. Consultant detailed also about podiatry appointments due to pain in feet, and have also had doctors letters about painfull hips and has injections in hips for pain. Can not walk far and does need a lot of help due to extreme pain when walking and moving around.. Is it worth me asking for it to be looked at again? Or do they just stick to the award they have given? Any advice would be appreciated as I have had great help and advice from this forum...0

What will you do now tocho? Will you ask them to look at the award again? Just asking because that is what we are deciding after getting standard mobility when thought entitled to enhanced, don't understand how they come to the descision, my son has been entitled to high dla for both indefinatly previous to this.. With all problems thought he would get enhanced..0

Ive asked for all paperwork inc atos report then ask them to look at again see what happens0

Just to let you all know that I finally got my decision after a management reconsideration, I was awarded by ATOS standard rate care and enhanced mobility rate! It only took 23 months from start to finish. I sent my forms off in November with doctors report (which they lost), went for my assessment in July, had the decision 4 weeks later. I asked them to redo it as half of my medical problems weren't taken to account like my inability to walk!
So rang DWP today, I've been ringing every week, and the lady said it was nice to 'finally ' give some positive news. So hang there every one.
Hi Scully, congrats on your award thats great news, it must be a relief to not be waiting on a decision or going through this silly process!
My experience is identical to yours except mine took 26 weeks instead of months. Did they actually redo the assessment? I was considering asking them to redo mine when I was writing the MR but the whole process just made me even sicker so just wrote a very long word document explaining why nearly all my medical problems were not taken into account and provided a load of evidence from the GP and consultant because they stupidly lost my originals. But now I feel like I maybe should have asked for a redo of my assessment?
And also do they give you the total amount difference back payment of what they should have awarded you from the beginning if you were already given a back payment before MR? Thanks.0 -
Hi guys , I'm new to MSE and Need some input. My chap has been on dla for several years and we are just going through the PIP change over process (renewal application is now with dwp decision maker as of 26th November) today We have received correspondence informing us about his Christmas £10.00 bonus. Would this suggest the pip application was successful and we are yet to be officially informed or is the bonus letter automatically generated. We are worried his payments will be revoked under PIPs strict criteria.0

Hi Suz, the next step is a mandatory reconsideration, when you receive the award letter it will state how you go about it. I can't remember if the reasons for the award is given with the award letter or if I got mine from requesting a copy of the assessment report. I would suggest waiting for the award letter and if the reasoning/points given for what task etc is not included then call them up and request a copy of this. You can then go through each descriptor and state why you believe the points have not been awarded correctly. I sent in all previous medical evidence and more recent ones on top of that just in case as they have a bad track record of losing these important documents! It is most definitely worth going through the MR process if you feel that they have wrongly awarded you. Nana55 gave me some good advice I will post below:
"Go straight for a Mandatory Reconsideration and don't wait for the promised phone call as they rarely happen. I wrote a detailed letter numbering each descriptor and explained how I struggled with each one individually.
For example I use a dosage box for my tablets as I suffer terribly with short term memory loss (I suffer with fibromyalgia) among other illnesses and this is a symptom. I have numerous times taken double or even treble pills as I have no recollection of taking them so when in pain took them again. Now I clearly told the assessor that my daughter fills my dosage box for me, however she hides and gives me my Oramorph liquid and soluble co-codamol ( I have to have soluable after stomach surgery) as obviously they do not fit in a dosage box as they are liquid. I was awarded 2 points noting I used a dosage box they said I only needed her to fill it. I would and should have been awarded 4 points due to the liquids and this would have raised my points from 7 to 9 just for this alone. This would have been enough to have given me standard care but instead I just missed out by one point. This is just one example the report is very selective and ignores a lot of what was said. I just explained all the errors as above. I also had a letter from my GP just confirming I genuinely suffer with what I have said and he wrote my medications and said about my memory and I struggle with daily tasks etc.
I would start writing you MR immediately and see what other evidence you can supply and send off by recorded delivery.
I know on here earlier someone was saying about genuine claims versus those who try it on and I totally get it."
I believe Nana55 was later awarded enhanced daily living after receiving little or no points for it before the MR. So it's definitely possible they can change the decision. I hope that's helpful, I wasn't too sure on the process myself a few weeks ago but it is a stress of my shoulders now that I've sent in my documents for MR. (I believe the waiting time for MR response is currently 6-9 weeks from the looks of previous posts but you will continue to receive payments for your current award every 4 weeks until the decision is made)0
