My original application went in to them on Aug 2013, I had my ATOS assessment in Nov 2013, I got my outcome on the Feb 2014, I appealed via Mandatory Reconsideration, turned down, went to tribunal took till Nov 2014, now backdated to Aug 2013, providing they don't challenge the Tribunal decision, which the person from DWP says they may well do. So 15 months from start to finish
Can I ask was you awarded anything originally from dwp or turned down altogether from the start? Also when will you know if dwp have challenged decision I didnt know they could do that I thought once the tribunal give their outcome thats the end of it. How did you find the tribunal experience sorry for all the questions lol x0 -

Yep received confirmation today - I'm at the back of the queue  This seems never ending.
When I rang yesterday I was told that I should have also received a reminder text two days before my appointment - which I didn't.
This makes me question if they ever sent out the appointment in the first place ???? my post can be a little dodgy (the day after I posted my neighbour handed me a letter that had gone to them) but seems strange that 2 of their systems failed at the same time ?2013 Goals [STRIKE]ipad[/STRIKE] , Australia holiday,[STRIKE] cash [/STRIKE]:D0 -

Has anyone one here been awarded mobility component of pip for mental health reasons instead of physical as when i was going through M.R. process two different staff of DWP told me mobility is only awarded for physical disabilities when i questioned the points system and quoted criteria they both said it didn't matter and its only for physical disabilities you get mobility so would like to know if they were just saying it or if they do not give mobility for mental health issues. Thankyou x0

The mobility component looks at 2 activities - quoted from PIP Assessment Guide:
Activity 11 Planning and following journeys
This activity was designed to assess the barriers claimants may face that are associated with mental, cognitive or sensory ability.
Activity 12 Moving around
This activity considers a claimant’s physical ability to move around without severe discomfort, such as breathlessness, pain or fatigue. This includes the ability to stand and then move up to 20 metres, up to 50 metres, up to 200 metres and over 200 metres.
You have been told wrong!
Broadly speaking 11 is Mental or Sensory and 12 is Physical
Each activity can score up to 12 points - so in theory you could get enhanced rate of mobility for mental disability or you could get points for both and the combined score is 12 or over
Standard mobility is 8 points and same applies - you could get 8-11 points (both activities are added together)
Hope this helps0 -

Thanks for the reply thats what I believed and tried to say but they both made out it was worded wrong and u misunderstood it so I would not get any mobility as mine was mental not physical. Makes me wonder if they are trying to change the criteria as I have not heard yet of anyone with mental illness getting mobility x0
