thomas_the_tank wrote: »Hey guys . quick question have just found out that my pip claim has not been successful . I am asking for a MR . I have just been informed though that if my MR is accepted then I won't get the backpay to the original phone call ( 12 months) and will only get it backdatedb to when the original decision was made ??? . is this correct and if so how could they possibly justify this. Thanks in advance .
Hi sorry to hear you are having to go through M.R. however if your M.R. is successful they pay you backdated amount from the original date you claimed (12 months). If M.R. is not successful and you have to go to an appeal if your appeal was successful your backdated amount will also be from the first original date you applied (12 months). Hope that helps x0 -
Hey clairebear , thank you for your response , i really appreciate the info and has put my mind at ease , Is there a time frame on how long an MR can take ?, my mp is now involved but i would like to know how long im looking at before i can realistically get a decision. x0

Hi Thomas.
I received my MR result on Monday which is 8 weeks from start to finish. They quote 8/9 weeks although when I rang last Friday the agent told me they are dealing with the within 6 weeks now.
Wishing you success

They quoted me 8-9 weeks and I got my decision after exactly 9 weeks but my Mp was involved so I think that helped. They told me there is no deadline for MR but they try to do it in 8-9 week. The post above me says 6 week which might be more accurate as mine was decided in September (most seem to get refused but once you apply to appeal they change their decision in your favour. I am in the middle of appeal but not had response from dwp yet) x0 -
Hi all
Posting again with my second attempt. My first attempt was well documented earlier in the thread but I've learned a lot of lessons from that. I've got proper help this time (from the MacMillan benefits advisors) and I have a proper diagnosis for my mental health issues and a consultant psychiatrist on my side this time (plus written evidence from him) as well as my GP. I'm just going for the care side as despite me providing evidence from my orthopaedic consultant with his diagnosis they said I had no medical diagnosis for my back pain so I'm not going to mention it this time as I can't give them anything else!!
I got the form this morning and rang them earlier to clarify something, when I mentioned I was awaiting help from MacMillan they gave me an extra nine days to return the form which was good of them but they're due to ring in the next couple of days.
Hopefully this time might be slightly better...*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
OK awesome thanks clairebear. My mp is really really angry about the situation and has already contacted dwp to give them an earful and to force the issue . he is getting back to me this afternoon to let me know his progress. I will keep you updated ...hopefully with good news .0

My original application went in to them on Aug 2013, I had my ATOS assessment in Nov 2013, I got my outcome on the Feb 2014, I appealed via Mandatory Reconsideration, turned down, went to tribunal took till Nov 2014, now backdated to Aug 2013, providing they don't challenge the Tribunal decision, which the person from DWP says they may well do. 2009 JanMasscara £7.00 Feb megcabot books x 2 £20 XFactor tkts x 2 £58.00 (couldn't go though as they only phoned on day :-( ) foundation £7.99
total so far for 09 £92.990 -
Still awaiting the result of my MR it feels as though it's taking forever, it's only been 4 weeks but the apprehension waiting is really getting me down, I called this morning to ask if it's with a case manager yet and she said yes, not that I know if it means anything, just wish it could be sorted and soon( I know you all feel the same about the waiting ) x0

originally made claim 19/08/14
f2f assessment 7/11/14
report sent to audit 11/11/14
report sent to dwp 19/11/14
called today to be told a decision has been made and award letter sent out. i asked if he could tell me the decision over the phone and was told it wasnt showing on the system. do you think because my application process has been so quick i will be turned down?
i know its been really fast for me compared to most people but i feel so sick and stressed. i cant imagine how people are feeling after waiting 8, 9, 10, even more months. do you think maybe if i called later today the system may have been updated? or shall i wait until monday?
