Yeah I will phone Friday just wish it was sorted been going on for 12 months xxx
I've heard it can take 12 weeks for a MR but we're talking about DWP here so don't be surprised if it doesn't take longer. Stressful i know. When you get the decision i hope it's good news for you.
  • Hi, I've been phoning DWP for the last 5 days or so to keep being told that a decision has been made but the letter is not showing so they can't tell me what it is and that it's still being looked at. Has anyone else had this? Surely if the decision has been made they should be able to tell me. Any advice? Thanks

    Hi strawberry 74

I have no idea why the letter is not showing. The only thing I can think of is they are still writing the rationale as to what the decision they have made. I know some have discovered a lump sum paid into their bank a while before they received a decision letter. This is obviously after a favourable decision.I would ring every day if I were you. I know how stressful it all is and I sincerely hope your decision is a favourable one.
    Keep us updated. xxx

  • Hi Nana55,

Thank you for your response. I've been checking bank daily too but nothing so at the moment I'm thinking the decision is not favourable. Dwp are in to their 5th week of having my report back and it's just getting stressful now, but I shall keep ringing. I'm up to week 35 now since applying and have read this whole thread with interest.

That doesn't make much sense to me. They're telling you a decision has been made and that it's still being looked at?!? I don't think they're being truthful with you. When i was waiting for my decision they told me that they had to contact Atos because there was a problem with something in my report. I rang Atos and they didn't know what i was talking about and told me my case with them was actually closed. I rang PIP again the next morning and was told a decision had been made. Never believe everything they tell you. If it was me i'd ring again today!
  • I rang them again about 20minutes ago and was told exactly the same thing, o asked if there was anyone else I can talk to and told no except if I requested a five day call back, which I declined. He did agree that it shouldn't be taking so long but then tells me I need to be patient as they are having to deal with thousands. I'm really fed up with it all now.

I agree you shouldn`t believe 90% of anything they say. How wrong is it though that anyone claiming benefits should feel like this. When illness strikes its more than enough to cope with. I have been lucky enough to have worked for 45 years and so the benefits system is new to me. From my point of view I have been given numerous timescales etc, all not only have come and passed without any news they just fob me off with "oh you shouldn't have been told that", I know one thing for sure I would not have got away with such poor customer service in my job! Itoo am sick and tired of being told the benefit has turned into a much bigger job than they thought, thousands are still waiting the moan could go on and on. Some needs to stand up and be counted for this disgrace!

Just keep ringing chick and good luck to you and everyone waiting xxxx
  • I too am new to benefits and fortunately am still working due to my employers making adaptations and consessions when required but I'm due to return to work on Thursday's after a long period off due to surgery and have only had ssp to live on for the most part, so would have really liked it sorting before I went back but I guess it's just more waiting and more phone calls. Thanks guys. :-D

    Hi
Had my assessment today, it wasnt as bad I had expected it to be, Ive not slept in days leading up to the appointment at all and really struggled to speak to her, she could see how distressed I was and said she rushed the appointment and said she would write the rest once I had gone due to me being very distressed during the appointment.
Im really unsure of how it went to be honest, my mind really wasnt on it today and I tried to tell her how I felt and that I receive a lot of help on a day to day basis with every thing, with each question she asked she seemed to understand and help me with my answers.
What can I expect now? anyone know when Im likely to hear from them? I really just want it done with, it has caused me so much stress and worry this last 6 month, which is not helping me with my illness, I really just want to stop my head spinning with thinking about whats next in line for me.

    Hello,

I am sorry you r assessment was so distressing. It is very much a waiting game I am afraid. I had my decision 5 weeks after assessment. It is stressful and all the delays make it worse. I'd give them 3 weeks and give them a call. Good luck and relax a little if you can. keep posting it helps when waiting to support each other. nana55
