Can I expect a phone call over the weekend, does the DWP work weekends?0
-
Hi,
It took approx two weeks in total. I sent my appeal papers along with a letter from my consultant. I rang them up 2 days later and they said they had received them and a letter was in the post for me, they also told me they had sent all the info to the dwp. i contacted the dwp and asked if they had received it which they said they had not. i then asked for a manager to ring me which took for days. He rang me the one day and spoke to me and told me he would be looking at my case the next day. He then rang me the next day and asked me a few questions and then told me i was to be awarded standard daily living and higher rate mobility. He also said if i had sent the letter from my consultant in the first place i would have been awarded at the first decision.
Good look and don't let em grind you down. xxxx
Thankyou so much I will sit down and write appeal tomorrow x0 -

No! I can struggle on the phone and when I was asked for clarification about aspects of my claim to be made in writing they seemed to insist on telephoning. When I was told some things couldn't be put in writing (?!) and I could only have a call back I was asked what time of day was best. I said afternoon but they called at 9.30 in the morning. Towards the end of my claim I'd been advised to register a complaint (by DWP staff) I was called on a Sunday. I was home alone, asleep and struggling with aspects of my condition the phone kept ringing, in the way that somebody you know is desperately trying to speak to you. I struggled out of bed and answered the phone. It was DWP to discuss my complaint! I explained I wasn't well, had just woken up and could they call back. That was months ago I'm still waiting!
I hope you can speak to somebody today and move forward with your claim.0 -
