I know it's frustrating. I waited from November to August! Have you asked for a copy of your assessment report? This will at least give you some idea.0 -
I am devastated I received a letter today(even after speaking to DWP only yesterday to be told no decision had been made and would take up to 6weeks!)to say I've not got it! 2points out, they were very mean with their scoring as my husband has to get me up at 3am when he going to work so he can shower me and dress me,I simply cannot do it myself I only got 2points for that part, how can I appeal ??0

I'm so sorry to hear that. Was it actually a letter from PIP decision maker? or was it your assessment report? It just seems rather quick, especially as you rang them yesterday and was told "no decision" letters take approx 7 days to get to us also. If it was actually from DWP then you need to ask for a mandatory Reconcideration. You only have approx 30 days to ask for this so hurry. When you ask for this make sure you send in extra evidence for EG Consultant letters, Occupational therapist letters, list of all current medication etc. PIP is all about how the condition affects you in daily life and NOT about the condition itself. Here's a link telling you all about the points system http://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/personal-independence-payment-pip/pip-points-system0 -
I meant Mandatory Reconsideration and not Mandatory decision, i edited post to correct it. Did they not give you anything for the mobility part either?0

Poppy1234 no I had nothing for mobility as I could walk from my lounge to front door easily she said to me on my visit even although I was holding on all the way..... I will re read the letter I just know the envelope had DWP on it,I'll read it thoroughly as I don't know what's wrong with me and intend to fight as the doctors have various appointments booked in to try and come to the bottom of it,I have worked hard all my life and simply cannot now,I cry as can't be independant,it's shameful my husband has to tend to my needs, thank you for your help I do appreciate it x0

Please ring DWP first thing Monday morning and ask for the mandatory reconsideration. There are places available that will help you with this for free. Citizens Advice Bureau is one of them, there's also groups on Facebook too. One is called Disability and Benefits support. I belong to that one and i will recommend them to you. If you have Facebook please join this group and they will help you in any way they can. Don't let DWP get away with this, fight it all the way! If there's anything you want to ask me then please do. Good luck xx0 -
Thank you so much poppy1234, I will call them tomorrow and also call my gp to ask if they can write something to explain better, they said I can dress using an aid but as I say my husband dresses me and showers me yet they said I can shower with an aid same applied for toilet needs,so very unfair I really do appreciate your help0

Can I also as how successful people normally are at MR? As looking at my points they should have certainly been higher on 2parts and I'm looking at it realistically, thank you all again0

If you can get someone else as well as your GP it would help more. Trouble is with just a GP is the DWP don't always think it's enough. Do you have a consultant? or OT? My OT wrote me a letter which helped tremendously. As for the other question, i've never had to ask for an MR i was lucky to be awarded first time with PIP but i have heard a lot have come back with the decision still being the same and just a few that have had their decision over turned. If you're unsuccessful with MR then please appeal it. I believe they say approx 8 weeks for MR.0
