hope this helps some people with time scales. I claimed pip beginning of last November 2013, and had my face to face Assesment today 2nd October 2014' approximately 48 weeks between claiming and getting Assesment. They told me today the wait for the decision now is 3to 4 weeks. Hmm we will see.

    Hope this helps.

Could anyone tell me if I am awarded pip do I still get income related esa as well or does pip replace it. which I am currently in receipt of.
Thank you in advance if you can help.

They seem to be making decisions quite quickly now. I had mine in 2 weeks. I'd wait 2 weeks and ring DWP to ask if a decision has been made. In the meantime you can ring and ask for a copy of your assessment report. Yes you'll still get your ESA. PIP is completely different to ESA. You can still work and claim PIP.
  • Just a quick question..noticed on a recent DLA letter my DLA claim runs out September 2015. When can I expect a renewal letter? I know September next year is an age a way, but I'm wanting to start being prepared.

If you're changing to PIP they send you the forms soon, but changing to PIP will depend on your postcode. Changing to PIP they contact you earlier than they would do if you're staying on DLA. The backlog for PIP is huge and people are waiting as much as 8 months for assessment. Take a look at this timetable and it will tell you if you'll be changing or not. http://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/personal-independence-payment-pip/pip-timetable

You only posted a a few days ago saying your files are now with the DWP. Leave it a couple of weeks and ring and ask again. Mine only took 2 weeks from date of assessment to get a decision.
