My claim is now completed with capita and with dwp,I know they say around 3weeks to sort it and decide but has anyone had a decision and quicker,I know 3 weeks isn't bad but I'm so desperately fed up as been going since January and now have an awful feeling they will say no,I'd appreciate hearing how long it took for you?

Hi rebjen I think our timescales are roughly on par. I had my f2f on 12 th sept, DWP received my hard copy on 26th so I'm still waiting on decision also. Good luck hope you get a decision real soon x

My form was received by Atos on 25 October 2013. TODAY I've had my f2f ! So almost a year waiting.

The nurse was very kind but I was able to spot the trick questions. We were chatting about how I had travelled to the centre and I said 'by car'. She asked if the supplied map had been helpful and when I said no, she asked how I had found the directions. I replied AA route planner. Result: answer to 'can you plan and organise a journey' answered in a simple conversation! Another question: what would I have done if I had got lost. Answer: ask for directions (which answers the question about approaching people you don't know)

All in all, it was a positive experience. She seemed to understand Rheumatoid Arthritis and how it can affect people differently.

    Now the real wait begins........

My anwers would have been "Studied Google maps for hours so that I knew every single twist and turn the road takes, landmarks to look out for, memorised the whole lot, written them down and then still got in a panic about the possibility of missing a turning causing a severe loss of sleep" and "Panic! Pull over, get Google maps up, panic some more, study the map more, panic, cry and maybe finally, ask someone but more likely give up and give them a tearful telephone call"

    :rotfl:
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I'm not sure i understand what you're trying to say because all of the above tells me that " you can plan and organise a journey" This would score you 0 points. You also said you'd "ask for directions" if you got lost. That tells me you "can engage with other people unaided" 0 points. How can this be a result? I'm not sure you fully understood everything but good luck.

    congratulations sulexossy :)
  • Glad to see some people finally being awarded. I sent off my form at the beginning of august and had my assessment a few days ago. I received the letter stating my case is now being audited today, think this seems relatively quick which I'm thankful for. Can just never tell with these things as this is the first time I've applied!

Had my assessment this afternoon, it seemed to go ok but you can never tell. Just a wait now, will pass the news on when I hear.
Best of luck to all waiting, hope your news is good.

Trouble is when your file is with the auditors is it just makes the decision making longer. Auditors just check that the assessors are doing their jobs properly and has nothing to do with your case. They hold files indefinitely. Good luck.
  • hope this helps some people with time scales. I claimed pip beginning of last November 2013, and had my face to face Assesment today 2nd October 2014' approximately 48 weeks between claiming and getting Assesment. They told me today the wait for the decision now is 3to 4 weeks. Hmm we will see.

    Hope this helps.

Could anyone tell me if I am awarded pip do I still get income related esa as well or does pip replace it. which I am currently in receipt of.
Thank you in advance if you can help.
