My claim pack has arrived for me to fill in... gulp... there is so much information needed in here! Can I ask... do you literally write.... I can't get into the shower with out someone helping me in and out and i can't stand while in the shower. I need help to put on trousers, shoes and socks as i can't bend down etc... I don't want to make a mess of this form and end up holding myself back! Any help would be appreciated thanks :o

I too have problems writing but can manage to type a bit each day. To make it easier I typed my answers onto a word document. For each answer I typed the question number and question so there was no confusion which question I was answering and referred to the relevant pages in my form. I also put in a covering letter explaining what I'd done. It meant all I had to write was 'see additional page' and page number if appropriate). Worked for me!
  • hi all been following the thread and well done to all those awarded and keep fighting if refused! well its been 1week and 1 day since f2f and just found out I have been awarded standard rate for both happy and shocked its so quick!! I scored 10 points for mobility but I believe I should be on higher rate can I ask for an mr on it? and they do still pay me rate until its looked at? is that correct? also does anyone know what else I am entitled to as I wanna make my life easier and will use the money for things like handrails in bath and stuff x

  • I am going to try the typing method and copy and paste this and write a letter to explain why, should be ok doing this?? I called the local citizen advice, there is a very very long waiting list to be seen! the time scales on the form would pass before i got an appointment so i will have to do my best! Good luck every one :)

    Hi shell,

Yes you still get paid your pip if you ask for MR! As I got both parts of pip, but I miss out on higher rate mobility by 4 points so I have ask,ed for MR of the mobility part and im still geting paid,

Good luck with your MR :)
  • hi marcus I missed by 2 points, how long does an mr take? I am waiting for the report so ican see the reasons then take it from there I am glad I still get the rate while waiting :) getting higher rate on mobility means I will have more freedom therefore better quality of life but then I think is it worth the hastle been relying on others for so long, but would love some independence.

    Afternoon all,

Action: 10 a.m. this morning email sent to PIP Customer Services saying that unless an appointment was allocated by the end of September, I would be contacting my MP.

Result: 4 p.m. this afternoon, email received stating appointment date on 1st October 2014. Letter being sent out today with further details.

Wish I'd done that sooner! Will keep you posted!
