Fabulous news kken, I'm really made up for you and your family! I hope this means you can take a little time now to look after yourself.
Geordiegirl - gutted for you. I agree, if appealing is not going to cause you too much stress, you have nothing to lose by doing it. Just be kind to yourself though.
For those on a DLA migration as I was, my award was decided mid August to start on Sept 9th, so payments won't actually begin until October. At this moment in time, it's a long time coming, and to top everything off, my washing machine broke at the weekend! I still have no income, the DWP are faffing about trying to reinstate my IR ESA so things are still extremely difficult. At least I know there's light at the end of the tunnel though, I'd just like it to be a little brighter!
Hi,LL30, and thanks.
It's disgusting that your migration means you are losing out on benefits that you are entitled to.Are they not supposed to pay your dla until you go on to pip.Why don't you try to get income support until it's sorted out.0 -

They are meant to pay until PIP starts, as long as you've completed the forms on time, etc.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

hi I am new to the forum I have been reading everyday and cant believe some results.I applied in january 14 had assesment with atos 2 days ago and have found out the report was sent electronically the same day, I was in the assesment for 35 minutes (is that good or bad?) I am now just waiting for the outcome. the lady who assesed me was nice enough and seemed very sympathetic. I did feel it all seemed rushed and she did answer some of the questions for me. also when I was in the waiting room a lady said her husband was in there for mental health issues and was in there for nearly 2 hrs but mine was not for mental issues. so I have no idea if she was qualified to see me or maybe him? the assesor also told me the other hp had rung in sick so she was seeing everyone.0

For some people, a half an hour appointment would be enough to decide on entitlement - especially if you've filled your form in well and have sent evidence.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

My wife f2f lasted about a hour And a quarter I had notes & the descriptors in front of me and we worked our way through the list with the atos assessor who was nice not like the first assessor referred to as Nurse Ratchet by other staff at assessment office Lol I made a point of telling her all the trials and tribulations of care in deep depth Lol:)0

It all depends on the assessor and the person being assessed ailments some cases are easy or damn right obvious others need to be looked at in further depth0 -

Sorry I should have been clearer! My DLA has been paid up until 9th September, but as before I was only on LRC, it was £20 a week and I did not qualify for any premiums on my ESA. With PIP I've been awarded standard for both components, so around £75 a week, plus I will get the premium on my ESA of around £60 a week - a significant increase. My ESA is currently only £15 a week as they are trying to update my claim, and the premium has to processed, so although the ESA will all come right in the end, it's no good in the meantime.
I understand why they have made the rules that they have for migrations, but it hits you hard when your award impacts other benefits as it has with mine. I applied in January and the first payment will be in October. I'm thrilled to have got the result that I have, I'm just stuck in a very hard place at the moment. So I'm a bit moany! I shouldn't complain about what I didn't have in the first place, but I'm very fed up of the constant stress. In some ways I wish I had not got the paperwork in on time and foregone the DLA payments, as then I would have got the back pay for both the PIP and ESA. Might have been a gamble, but might have been worth it!
On the upside, I submitted my paperwork to Uni this morning for emergency funding. They have processed it and have said I will have an answer next week. That light is getting closer (I hope!) xx0 -
