    Hi everyone,

I came across this awesome forum after attempting to find out any info regarding timescales after becoming a little frustrated with the delays I have been encountering with my own PIP application. I’ve read the entire thread through from start to finish twice as it does give me a bit of a boost when hearing from those who do eventually get results.

Unfortunately, since first visiting this forum about three weeks ago, my application has not moved any further forward at all. It’s been 39 weeks now since my initial application and 6 weeks since my home assessment. I am now currently waiting on Capita to prepare the report; I would have thought it should have been done after six weeks however they just keep giving the standard line and telling me it’s not abnormal for it to take this long.

I have also recently raised a complaint regarding the delays that have been caused by Capita. This includes the two times the health professional didn’t even turn up as well as the current delays with the report preparation.

After making my complaint I was told that the amount of time was unacceptable and that my case would now be marked as urgent; I was also told that the health professional and her manager would be advised of this.

This morning I called Capita complaints for an update, again I was given the usual lines and told that my case was now marked as urgent; however the lady went one step further and attempted to explain to me (like I was a five year old) that they understand my frustration however all cases are treated in chronological order and nothing can change that. I then took the opportunity to question her as to how, based on what she had just stated, would it be possible to treat my case as ‘urgent’ (which is what they had told me). She kept trying to change the subject however when pushed she could not answer. In fact, following that, she got a little funny with me and stated that she believed I was trying to ‘wind her up’. Needless to say, after she made that comment I immediately asked to speak to her manager; I am now waiting for her to call.

I have also tried contacting my MP; Over a three week period I have called three times and left messages as well as sending a lengthy email via ‘They Work For You’; however as of yet I have not even had an acknowledgment off them which in itself is ridiculously frustrating.
Anyway, that’s me in under 500 words, lol.

Again congrats and massive thanks to those who have taken the time to share their (eventual) success, it’s great to read and it does give me a boost when the frustrations get too much.
If anyone has any advice they can offer based on their experiences it really would help.

    Have a great day everyone,

    Tally.
  • FAILED AGAIN,
They say i have no problems apart from my ankle.Don't they know it's your feet that you walk with.Ignored consultants report about walking etc.Took into consideration future injections etc(I thought it was now not when or if condition changed). They are unable to take into account ability to walk on uneven ground and stairs.
I think i will go to tribunal, as my pain and tiredness was not considered.
They havn't sent the appeal form, just said i can write to tribunal, but i i needed form

  • Thanks friends for your support.I am going to appeal.
Reliably, safely and repeatedly was not considered.Apart from them saying can't take walking on uneven ground or stairs into consideration, why then on their pip2 information booklet do they say enter these in as diffficulties.I am confused.

Hi, With PIP it's not about the condition. It's how the condition affects you. Good luck. I didn't find the assessment that bad. I thought the person i had was really nice and understanding. I was lucky. x

Geordie girl, i'm so sorry to hear about you being unsuccessful. For what its worth, im sure i read somewhere, earlier in this thread i think, that 52% of appeals are successful so here's hoping yours is one of them, i will keep my fingers crossed for you.

If it helps, i have .pdf that i downloaded from somewhere that gives some excellent advice regarding dealing with appeals. Please let me know if you would like a copy, im sure i can stick it up on online for you to download if you feel it will help.
