  • Afternoon all,

    Just de-lurking to report:

Initial phone call to request PIP claim pack: October 15th 2013

Submitted to Atos: 21st November 2013

Still waiting for appointment: 9th September 2014.

Number of phone calls chasing up appointment: too many to count.

Action: 10 a.m. this morning email sent to PIP Customer Services saying that unless an appointment was allocated by the end of September, I would be contacting my MP.

Result: 4 p.m. this afternoon, email received stating appointment date on 1st October 2014. Letter being sent out today with further details.

Wish I'd done that sooner! Will keep you posted!

I rang a few weeks ago to find out what was happening to my son's PIP claim, and just before the stage where you speak to a human being, there was a message saying claims are taking 26 weeks from application to decision. :(
Thursday this week is 42 weeks since initial phone call for claim still no assesment

    Limara:
Go to the Atos Healthcare website. There are two contact emails addresses - one for PIP and one for ESA. I was amazed at the quick response. Worth a try. HTH

P.S. Mind you, I've just had Yodel deliver a parcel within 24 hours so maybe it's my time to get lucky!!! (Long story!!!!)

Cheers for that if you have any spare luck going pass some this way mine ran out long ago! I think anything has to be worth a try now this is making his health so much worse, even though the money problems are mine as he isn't capable of sorting that.

I had my assessment at around the 42/43 mark, and then waited 3 weeks before i was told,

He has phoned up so many times, he got told once its been escilated to urgent and would be getting appt within 7 to 10 days that must have been at least 4 months ago. then the next time was told there is no such thing. Hes allways been told its in the system and there is nothing they can do until the computer spits out the appt well that damed computer needs to start spitting them out!
He phoned dhss and they said chase it as Atos should have a 16 week turn round and they had it on record it was received by Atos either the 6th or 9th Jan (I cant remember lol) I would have thought it was them that should be doing the chasing not us.

Some people are waiting more than 10 months for their assessment. I waited 8 months. I contacted my MP about mine and then received an appointment date a few days later. Maybe you should go down the MP route and contact yours. Good luck.
  • Just curious does anyone know if they have a system for deciding on when people get assessments? I think I waited 23 weeks ( and I didn't have to hassle them to get that appointment or anything ), yet as others have said they're waiting 40+ weeks which seems unfair? Does it depend on where you are in the country maybe

  • Quick update

Logged on to the bank earlier to see a nice payment had gone in from the DWP :j No letter or phone call to see exactly what I've been awarded so assuming that will come through soon. So 64 days from initial application to assessment then 10 days from assessment to money in the bank. I feel very lucky and blessed that it's happened so quickly as I know how long others have waited :(
