  • I phoned them this afternoon to see how my MR was going. The lad said the decision was imminent and to phone on monday to see if it had been done, either that or wait for the post.Well, i think i will phone and hopefully get a answer either way.

I've bitten the bullet and finally made a claim....needed to really after a collapse in my home last week.

Won't hold my breath though, doubt I will get anywhere with it.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Hi, I have only read a few stories where people have only waited 2-3 months. Most have waited 8 months +. It took me 8 months from applying to decision.

Hi, poppy12345, Thanks. At least if the decision is imminent, that means that the MR timescales are correct at 8-9 weeks.

It took over a year for my husband to get his PIP assessment, then got the decision a week later. He's got enhanced daily living. Though technically he should be eligible for standard mobility as well, we're just grateful he's got something and it should help us find ways to support him better :) It's until 2017 as well, which is longer than my DLA award :P

Total time was about 13 months from initially making the claim (started August 2013, decision made September 2014).

Good luck Geordie Girl - hope you finally get your award. I really hope your MR is successful and you don't have to do an appeal. Thinking of you.
