I finally got my PIP award letter and my back-payment today! :j
I have been awarded 22 points each for both things, I didn't entirely agree with the 'she can manage complex budgeting decisions' (because frankly I can't, it's shameful, and I leave all that malarky up to my husband!) but most of it was right, even if it how I am on a good day and there aren't many of those but it's enhanced for both and who needs all that doom and gloom on paper eh, nice to pretend I am not the medical mess I am!
The award is for 3 years (is that standard?) and I can now relax, treat myself to a spinach and ricotta cannelloni and marvel at a bank balance that is in more than double figures!! :beer:There is no shame in not knowing; the shame lies in not finding out.0 -

Sent off our PIP application around March 2013. Never heard anything at all ( not even a confirmation they'd received the application! ) so in August we rang to see what the status was and were told it had been passed on to ATOS and we'd get an appointment for a FTF meeting. Had the meeting this week with a company called Capita as ATOS had outsourced to them and it seemed to go really well. They said I hadn't put down enough on the initial application about the severity of the condition and so she was going to push for lower daily living component and higher mobility component. I know ultimately the decision lies with the DWP but was wondering if anyone knew how much the report from these assessment appointments goes towards the decision they make? Anyone know what kind of timescale I am looking at now before a decision is made?New House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

Hi, My f2f was with Atos and i had a decision 16 days after. I have heard that Capita are alot slower at sending back assessment reports, but i don't know how true this is. I have always assumed that the decision maker looks at all evidence including the assessment report and then makes a decision. If he/she ignores the assessment report then what's the point of a f2f to begin with? However i have also read stories where the DM totally ignores the report and goes against it awarding less points. Have you asked DWP for a copy of your report? You can also ring and ask if a decision has been made. Good luck.0 -

I applied 19th february, forms sent back early march, received by Atos 20th march, no correspondence whatsoever until I called them mid august and suddenly things started happening (coincidence? I think not!), f2f 26th august and..... duh duh duh!!!! Phone call yesterday giving me prior warning of a large sum of money hitting my bank on monday - as I've been awarded standard care and enhanced mobility backdated to 19th february until august 2018! Relieved that this process is finally over is an understatement! :j
Thanks to all who have been supportive and I hope everyone gets their decisions through that they deserve and good luck and prayers for all who are still fighting xxx :A0 -
I rang the DWP yesterday to start my claim for pip. Shall update on this thread as things progress.0

Hi All, have just gone back to work and been overrun with paperwork so havent been on for a little while. No, still not heard anything and tbh am thinking no news is good news but kinda dont want to think that way in case it is declined again. My daughter is just the same atm and unfortunately isnt liking her new psychologist. Just have to stay positive and hopefully get some alternative help if and when we can. Hope everyone is well as can be. Geordie girl, will let you know as soon as I hear anything either way. Good health and happiness to you all xxx0
