  • What's even more worrying is that they are taking 5 weeks to train them. When will the backlog clear?

Hi Geordie girl a couple of days and mine has a contact number so I rung it and it was his wife, I explained everything to her and my MP rung me at home. He had sent three letters to the DWP and tbh I think it did speed it up .I am on to him againe re unplanned intervention mess so I expect a call or email within the next day or so. Do u have a website for yours might have a number you can ring, try and ring his home number if u can my MPs wife was lovely. good louck

I have to say, it was only for the fact my MP intervened that things started moving with my claim. I made the claim in the Oct and by April never heard anything not even an assessment date and I contacted my MP on the Tue 15, he replied to me on the following day to say he would chase it up and by the Fri I had an assessment date booked in for 29 April and it was in my town too. He has also chased the report up with Atos and that was sent to DWP on 2 June, now DWP have said today they raise some queries with the Medical Professional who has already responded to those queries and she told me today a decision should be made any day now but I'm not holding my breath, I've called them every week since they got my report and from next week I am going to call them every day and remind them how much more ill they have made me and I do intend addressing that matter once a decision has been made. Gonna sue DWP for undue stress, distress and suffering!! It's like an abuser, they only do it because they've been getting away with it, well it's time a stop was put to it. The Government started a big campaign to address domestic violence and abuse well the same very government are abusing the disabled, sick and vulnerable people in our country so they should be stopped too otherwise it's just double standards folks!!!!

Well you should celebrate Fdivor, it's been a long long wait and stressful no doubt too, so congrats perhaps you can relax a bit now and live a life again without being consumed by the PIP process.

I'm pleased for all of you who have finally got your decision!

    Hi kittykat and clairebear,
Thanks for your replies. I rang ATOS again to ask if they have done auditing but just got fobbed off as i was expecting tbh. Person just said 'at least you are nearing the end, there are plenty of others who claimed as far back as April' so I am to be grateful and after all, if awarded, it will be backdated. I was just beyond words but i intend to be a thorn in their sides until they get things sorted. My daughter is in hospital right now with a severe kidney infection on intravenous drips to replace fluids and antibiotics all because she wont drink for fear of needing the loo and her perceived contamination. The nurse who admitted her said she hadnt seen a dipstick test so bad in a long time. She is saying she just cant go on anymore and the stress of her finances is making things worse. We are all trying to hold her up emotionally and financially. Her brother is suffering from anxiety now as he is scared she is going to do something to herself. He has had to wrestle knives off her. He is 21, just finished uni and keeps giving her his student loan to help her financially. This is impossible and I told ATOS they need to stop looking at paperwork as a set of NI numbers and remember they are dealing with real people. Are they trying to reduce the claimants by putting them under too much stress. Sorry for the rant as I am sure you guys have as much going on as us. I at least gain some joy from your successes so please keep them coming:)

I won't be surprised if you're right. I know they do want to educe the claimant count.

I hope you get an answer soon and that your daughter gets the help she needs.

Please take care of your self too.

Passed the so called "average waiting time" for the DWP to make their decision. It's so frustrating! At least its not just me i guess. The PIP system needs sorting out!

Don't be sorry about the rant, I'm sorry to hear about your troubles and what your family are going through, it must be so very difficult and this process doesn't help either, it consumes a person. Get your MP involved and see if you can get Social Services to back you as your daughter's health is impacting all of your family. For a long while I was very consumed and obsessed by this process to the point it's all I ever talked about and then I remembered something I used to always tell my kids when they moaned about things and that was that no matter what we go through, there is always someone else worse off and it is so true. So I have kind of detached myself somewhat, I don't talk to my family or friends about it now but once this decision has been given to me, DWP are going to pay for what they put me through. I had a similar situation nearly two years ago with my ESA claim and was told to claim PIP in the Dec but I didn't claim until the following Oct. I didn't even want to claim PIP because of the bad experience and how it affected me it scared me and I knew it would make me more ill and it has but my oldest daughter made me ring them up, bossy mare, but I guess I'm still to find out if any of it was worth it or not. They said today I should get a decision any day now but she said they would send a letter, but I'm sure some others have been telephoned is that correct?
