oooh eck! I am No1 on Barnes !!!!!! list right now!
On Sunday afternoons I go up my mums for a couple of hours, so as GD1 stayed over she came up with me. and Barnes got shut into the spare room! OH didn't notice, and I just thought he was windowsill napping in my room until I went up ten minutes ago to get changed. and he wasn't there! came back downstairs and checked his usual rest spots - no Barnes. asked OH - 'do you know where Barney is?' - 'No, isn't he upstairs'?
He wasn't in my room, checked the other room, he wasn't in there - opened the spare room door - and he stalked out - highly indignant! Yowled very quietly (it sounded like a threat), and ran away from me downstairs to demolish his supper!
All attempts at conciliation have failed! I just get 'The Glare'! and he avoids my hand, he even went in the living room and complained to OH! who had a hard job keeping a straight face, while commiserating with Barnes. he will probably punish me tonight by not playing 'pingponguppastairs'! Barnes I mean, not OH.

I am obviously the worst human 'cat mama' in the world!

I shall accept my punishment humbly.

Ha ha! I've shut a cat in a room by accident and not noticed all day, eventually they do forgive you, I promise.

Well, mum now has Blackie sleeping over too. When I said it wasn't fair as she already had one of my cats she said, "Well, I've nowt much to do anyway now your dad's gone" so we took him over on Saturday.
She said Scrappy seemed less vocal yesterday so maybe he's appreciating the company of another cat.

awww - your poor mum! obviously looking for something to keep her busy and not dwelling on the sad loss of her husband.
I do hope your cats can help fill the 'void'. you never know, you could be starting her on a new 'career', foster cat mum!

Barnes has forgiven me today I think - though he didn't come sleep with me last night, spent it downstairs on his 'pile of cushions' I think.

Atrix and his wife called in today (notice I didn't say Atrix and his missus - I AM trying not to confuse 'his missus'!)

Atrix was playing with Barnes so I provided some 'dreamies' for Atrix to reward him. and Barnes was taking them out of Atrix's lips! me and L were a bit gobsmacked! dogs do that - not cats! he was ever so gently taking them...........so L got out her phone and filmed Barnes taking one - and caught Barnes giving Atrix a frenchie! roflmao! she sent it to her sis - cos she says sis doesn't believe half of what Barney gets up to! I told her to post it on Youtube!

I tried it later - but Barnes would NOT TAKE dreamies from MY lips. I spent ten minutes trying to get him to 'see' the dreamie between my lips - but no he kept sniffing at my hands!

its very windy and rainy here in Sunny South Wales tonight! and Barnes doesn't like it! The rain is hitting outside his favourite windowsill and he really dislikes that! so OH and I are getting 'complaints'. I seem to have 'tuned in' to the nuances of his yowls now - short yowls in a quiet voice are 'What you doing? playtime? fancy a nice massage?'.
Long loud yowls usually mean 'Ive just had a poo/pee, come clean it up please'. or 'I am not happy about this - find out why I am not happy and put it RIGHT!'
low long yowls are 'complaints' such as 'Where the hell you been? Ive been on my own for hours!' (I got that today when I got home from town) or 'Where the hell is my breakfast/supper?' or even 'Where is GS2? he is supposed to be here today?'

Squeeks are 'Oh - THERE you are!' 'You OK'? 'hi, I feel like some conversation, wanna chat?', 'Nice Treats!'.

My Eric has a vocabulary too, although the "words" are less distinct now that he has become very hard of hearing. Whatever he wants to say comes out at top volume and much showing of teeth !

When Harley Kitten comes in or pounces on you in bed he sounds like he's mioawing "Hi!" He makes an odd growl sometimes when he's purring which sounds like "Love you".

Blackie often yowls "out" when he wants to go out and if I say no, he will reply with "why?" He also mioaws "Mam"

Hubby thinks I'm barmy! I think he's just jealous because Blackie doesn't say "Dad"
