OH is well and truly busted!
I was 'resting' on the settee when I spotted one of OHs workmates coming in our gate. told OH that C was here and Barnes of course followed OH to the front door. he is just like a dog - he hears anyone at the door and he has to go see who it is! he doesn't bark but has been known to yowl if they don't come in!
I overheard this:
C - hi, I just popped in for a cuppa and to see the famous Barney.
OH - oh come in, T or Coffee? He is just by here.
C - Where? Oh, There he is! OMG! he is Stunning!
OH - He's ok.
C - Oh that face! Big cat isn't he?
OH - Yeah.
C - awww aren't you luvverly! ahhh beautiful boy! (to Barnes I hope and not my OH).

I get greeted too - tho not with the same degree of enthusiasm. and peppered with questions about Barney. Precise Breed, Age, etc.

C - he has told us so much about him (Barnes), I had to see if he was as gorgeous as he says.
Me - oh really, well he is Barneys slave you know (I do love to stir), do anything for him!
C - (trying to entice Barney onto his lap), my missus would kill for one of these. you want to sell him?
OH - NO! now stop it C, you will upset the missus! (who was stifling laughter as I knew very well C was winding him up!).

I am now thinking of making OH a 'brag book' about Barney as obviously he is proud as punch of him and ALL his workmates are regaled with Barney tales! ROFLMAO!

Later on I said to OH that C knew a lot about Barney - his reply? 'Oh C loves Cats and I MAY have mentioned Barney once or twice'!
me - oh has he got a cat?
OH - yes and a dog.
Me - what breed of cat?
OH - Heinz 57 - the dog is like those idiots next door (Westies).
Me - so you don't talk about Barney then?
OH - NO - and stalks off! rofl!

I think Barney deserves a 'pedigree name' - you know the type of thing, "Marquess Fluffikins of Folkington the 14th!

so PLEASE Post some SUGGESTIONS! I wish I could offer a prize for the best - but, some may not want to let me know real names or addresses - so best to stick to 'Just for Fun'!

I am not going to make any suggestions - I want YOURS!

if you want any hints then Barney is; a Red/white, Peke Faced Persian. He was bred in America. He is approx. 5 years old.
His temperament is Gentle, Placid, Laid back to the point of comatose on occasion, Intelligent, very Affectionate. He is Fond of Food, Dislikes being groomed unless heavily bribed with Dreamies. He likes kids in Small doses and the constant company of adults. He has immaculate manners and when finally cured of Poo-ing in the bath will be purrfection itself!
He doesn't 'meiow' - he communicates with yowls and purrs.
His favourite games are 'Ping Pong and Ping PongUppaStairs'.
he also finds vibrating toy spiders of interest but isn't sure what to do when they stop vibrating! Fish on a line is a good game too though he seems to find it exhausting!

He is also an excellent catcher of flying insects - he can move like greased lightning when he has a mind to! very, very, flexible but not great at the high jump (Due to short thick legs, huge paws and a chunky body).

So there you go Folks! Have fun naming my last-born!

edit - I should have said - if I get a good response I will put up a 'poll' and you can all vote for your favourite. I will give it a couple of weeks and then present Barney with his posh new 'Title' for Christmas. so you have just one week to suggest names - then depending on how much time is left it could be one or two weeks to vote.

glad it's going well our cats enjoy a cardboard box with a ping pong ball thrown inside. keeps 'em busy for hours, until the ball goes under the sofa! also kids knitted some of those pom pom balls tied on a string. but best of all they like catching rabbits! lol!

I did post Barnes has immaculate manners didn't I? Cant decide if this was a lapse or not - OH was drinking a cup of tea and Barney was sat on settee beside me. OH put his tea down on the floor instead of on the coffee table, and Barney jumped down, sauntered over and had a few mouthfuls! OH didn't notice so I didn't say anything! (Baaaaad Meri!). Now, can I excuse this as 'OH put cup down on floor so Barnes naturally thought it was being offered to him'? ~Barney never takes anything off the table, coffee table or worktops..................so maybe he thought 'Oh, Dad put it on the floor so its mine'!
