Grandcat having extended 'sleepover'!

The grandgirls came down for Sunday lunch - so I made sure I had groomed Barnes first. Still no sign of fleas! which is good!

They made a huge fuss of him and finally seemed to learn NOT to pick him up! I am sure he appreciated that! he also appreciated the extra treat stick I let them give him! he hung around them for a while then went for a nap!
I took them up 'Grans' and came back in time to feed Barnes. he doesn't like it if his dinner is 'late'! he still hasn't got used to British Winter Time - so I have adjusted accordingly! he gets groom and treats at 12.00 not 1.00pm and his dinner is now at 6.00pm!
he is currently curled up on sofa back behind OHs head.
The most dreadful 'yowling' from upstairs had me and OH looking at each other, deciding something awful was happening and both dashing upstairs (rather like keystone cops we were elbowing each other out of the way!). only to find a rather large sandcastle in litter tray and Barnes sitting by the side of litter tray! OH laughs and says 'your cat - your job'! jeez - the biggest poo I have seen a cat produce! my springer would have been proud of that!
Barnes kindly supervises its disposal. (I also had to activate the deodoriser spray a few times - Phewwww)

sorry guys - back to poo again! but at least it wasn't in the bath!

ooohhh we had a really nice boooorrring day today!
No grandkids, no stress, just sheer laziness for me and Barnes! I DID enjoy it!
Not sure Barney enjoyed it as much - he seemed a bit 'lost'! was wandering round and jumping on and off upstairs windowsill! he didn't really settle to anything! until he came downstairs this afternoon and I was parked on sofa crochet-ing and he came and settled down for a couple of hours! Then decided I NEEDED a massage! lol I had to put the crochet down as he was determined! he ended it by stroking my face again - bu99er it, that cat knows exactly which buttons to push!

oh gawd - he keeps getting his days mixed up! IT WASNT silly o clock get up time today! but I got woken at 6.45! usual method - walk up and down me, jump off bed (landing with a loud THUMP), run to door, look back at me and REPEAT! what I call his 'Lassie' act! lol - I pull duvet over my head and mutter swear words and drift off again...........except I am not fully asleep and OH then wakes me up at 7.00! jeez how much noise can one person make making a cup of tea, porridge and his lunchbox? aaaarrrrggghhh! have to get up then when OH leaves (I am NOT at my best first thing and prefer to have no HUMAN interaction!)!
Barnes seems a bit puzzled but then realises its not GS day! so bu99ers off back to bed! after his breakfast, which OH has kindly provided today!!!!!!!!!! I stared at Barnes feeding station for a while before realising he hadn't left last nights supper, but OH had kindly poured dry food on his plate from last night! I hate winter mornings - I cant cope with getting up in the dark! I am like a zombie until the sun comes up!
Barnes was delighted to see Atrix! and even more delighted to see his human sisters come down the steps this afternoon! he spent ages just walking round them while they warmed up from a cold journey from school! he was making little 'coo-ing' noises...........honestly, he yowls, he chirrups, he coos - he purrs but doesn't mee-ow!

strange the things that make one happy!

OH went up for a shower and I was busy preparing his supper and didn't hear him come down again ............I did however hear Barnes come downstairs yowling loudly (means - Muuuummm - Ive had a poo - go clean it up please!). Suddenly realised that OH is carp at setting the booby trap - if he remembers, I run upstairs and bath is un-boobytrapped but CLEAN! sniffing, I know Barnes has had a poo - but its not in his poo tray!
he has poo-ed in the tray he normally reserves for wees!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't trust him!!!!!!!!!!! I think he is lulling me into a false sense of security! lol.

GS day today - Barnes must like CBBC cos he was happy to sit and watch it with GS!
Gawd - that was a cold wet walk home from the school! its nearly a mile and I missed the bus cos they were a bit late going in! if I had waited for the next one I would be hanging round for twenty minutes so it was warmer to walk it! good thing I had remembered to take my painkillers this morning!
it was like Barnes realised that I would be cold, wet, miserable and in pain when I got in - he was there waiting for me and I swear he was asking to be picked up and cuddled! so I did! and he just purred loudly and we cuddled on the sofa for ten minutes! mmmmmm lovely warm furry cat! better than a hot water bottle - pity he couldn't make me a nice hot cup of coffee too!

just a little update - Barnes wanted to play ping pong uppa stairs - which he let me know by playing it with 'invisible' ping pong balls'! I wasn't really in the mood - I cant take more painkillers and my back is killing me - but, just to please Barnes we played for ten minutes. and the bu99er has hidden a couple of balls! I just KNOW that they are going to get played with when OH has gone to sleep.............and will wake him up!

oh dear - I cant think of one interesting thing to tell you!
not a GS day or grandgirls day - no visitors - though the postie was a bit noisy and Barnes thought someone was coming in so ran to greet them! and was disappointed!
I think its lovely! Sad old mare that I am, I LIKE boring days!
I slept in til nearly 8.45............Barnes likes his Brekky at 9.00 so got up - and OH had put his breakfast out, AGAIN! and it looked like some had been eaten......Barnes!!!!!! you been sucking up to OH again!
debated going back to bed - but, once I am up - I am UP! usually.

wandering around Aldi - I am mentally thinking do we want chips or wedges when OH says 'Does YOUR animal want cat litter'? lol - yes he does! every week - but usually I have to say 'We need cat litter - can you get that please'? as its heavy and I cant lift it. hmmmm OH trying hard not to appear as a 'Barney Slave'! he isn't succeeding very well as he 'babytalks' to Barney, gives him brekky, and now is voluntarily reminding me we need cat litter!
Barney is 'getting' to him! and right now is on his lap watching TV! I don't think I am supposed to 'notice' this! as I am 'stuck on the computer'!

I'm going to pressure you again to change your thread title! I spotted a post elsewhere that you said and you talked about your cat I think he's well entrenched in your home, life, and hubby! Time to officially rename the thread to be more like my new cat

I HAAVE thought about renameing the thread - but, I am not sure how that would affect those who 'subscribe'? anyway - I will leave it as is for now - after all, there is no limit to 'extended' is there?
