I fancied a bit of cat massage so lay down on sofa - and sure enough half hour later Barnes appeared and started massage (have I said he uses all four paws?), lol er he must have 'dislodged' some 'wind' as I burped really loudly.......he stopped, opened his eyes, glared at me then turned round and recommenced massage! I couldn't help it - I laughed! he was really offended and jumped off and disappeared upstairs for TWO hours! normally he comes to check on me every hour!
arrrgh - I meant to deflea and deworm today - but OH worked on and then we had to go shopping (the fridge was EMPTY) and I haven't had chance - OH is working again this evening and it takes the two of us to cut his claws and OH to hold him for the deflea! deworming is easy - I just feed him the tablet between bits of his Webbox treat sticks!
OH should be off work tomorrow (fingers crossed) so I can get Barnes sorted and go shopping for his 'wet food'! he loves the Sheba trays so will get them - the gourmet Perle sachets went down well too.........but Barnes will NOT eat rabbit! strange that! I wonder why?0 -
a little update
POO Wars Meritaten 43 - Barney 0
I was reminded of this when OH went out earlier for his Christmas meal with workmates. he left the shower curtain open and I didn't realise for a couple of hours! Thankfully bath was clean - Booby trap reset now! its too early to expect Barney to have 'lost the habit'!
he has been deflead, dewormed and claws clipped! which he hates! but needs must as he was getting stuck everywhere! he still prefers the carpet to anything actually designed to let him 'scratch'! so there are frequent yells of 'Barney - Stop it'!0 -
did my monthly Barney shop at PAH for HIS food! its a bit easier now I know just what he will and will NOT eat - but they only had three varieties of the tray meals he likes, and NOT his favourite one (Turkey in White Sauce). but, they did have the six packs of the Sheba meaty, they are tiny but so rich one seems to satisfy him - and at £1.99 cheap enough! plus a 12 pack of Gourmet perle which he loves (apart from the rabbit variety). altogether with a pack of Dreamies and webbox beef sticks it came to just over £13 for 28 meals! the huge pack of dry food from last month will last at least another 2 - 3 months.
they also offered me a loyalty card - points apparently go to an animal charity of my choice (from approved list I think). so have the form filled in and will send that off.
Barney is looking so much better and livelier! I think the fleas are under control though I am ever vigilant (PARANOID)! no worm problems that I can see. but, I noticed today a bit of dark stuff in his ears. he doesn't seem to have a problem with it - but I am wondering if the ear mite stuff I first opened and used about 3 months ago will be ok - or should I buy a fresh one? do they 'go off'?
He 'stroked' my face today! he was sat beside me on the arm of the sofa and I turned my face to him to talk to him and he touched his nose to mine then very very gently stroked my face with his paw! not once but three times! AAAAWWWWWW- I am soooo in luurrrvvvvve with him!
Mind you - it makes a nice change from getting 'whupped upside the head'! (his usual method of getting my attention)!!!!!!!0 -
Aww, our youngest strokes my face when I get up on a morning. He stretches up the wall and puts his paw out and when I bend down he strokes my face, head butts me and then runs off to his feeding place ready for breakfast. It's one of the rare times I actually get affection from him.0

aww - Lisajane - its so special when a normally indifferent cat shows you some looovve! First Cat Timmy was not affectionate usually - but on very rare occasions would come up to me and lick my nose! he regularly licked my boys feet - but that was cos they were stinky and he liked the taste!
Second Cat Nicki showed affection by purring loudly and lapsitting.0 -
He loves affection off hubby and daughter and will curl up on them for a stroke. I just get the occasional show of affection, he sleeps at my feet and follows me around but he's not that fussed on curling up and getting stroked. Salem however is a real mummy's boy and loves laying on my chest, burying in to my hair and going to sleep. He's a right floosy and loves affection from anyone but he won't snuggle up and go to sleep with them.0

That is how they let you know you are 'special' to them! They do something that is exclusive to YOU! I am convinced of that!0
