Have you had much snow your way?
We had a bit this weekend but the cats seemed oblivious to it all really. Harley sat on the window sill watching it fall on Saturday afternoon but when he went out later, he didn't seem to notice the cold, white stuff on the ground and just sat under the tree looking up for the birds. He legged it in when one landed and knocked a dusting of snow onto his head.0 -
rofl - his missus, birds adding insult to injury there!
no, no snow - just rain. but not particularly heavy - more a drizzle than a downpour.
in fact, I have been waiting since we had Barnes to see his reaction to snow. So that's three winters now with no lying snow. Ice yes, the decking gets so slippery for us humans we are all skidding around like Bambi on ice! lol, doesn't seem to affect Barnes though. those furry paws must give him some grip.0 -
Omg!! That's 3 posts that I've typed that I've managed to lose  I had wondered if you have gotten any snow also, we actually had a fairly decent covering considering we're on the coast and it normally doesn't lie, both furry babies were quite fascinated by it but none brave enough to venture outside.
We had some family fun on sat night building a snowman, not so much fun with the snowball fight as my aim is shocking but my 13 year old son's aim is fantastic lol.
Do you think that Barnes 'matts' his fur on purpose to get you to spend more time with him?0 -
Just read the part in your post about the ice, hubby was on holiday last week and I dragged him out for a walk on friday morning and I swear his new name is Bambi. He forgets his age sometimes and started trying to slide on the ice which quickly turned into 'O !!!! I'm going to fall' instead. Well I can honestly say that I was laughing so hard I nearly wet myself (too much information??) and it really cheered my up for the rest of the day! xx0

hi nonnie and his missus!
I am beginning to suspect that Barnes quite likes the 'bouffant' fur look! I groomed him today and really made a thorough job of it - he looked sleek and gorgeous and he went off upstairs, came down ten minutes later looking like 'Punk Cat'! Spikes of fur everywhere! I burst out laughing - Barnes looked offended and demanded to be let out!0 -
Barnes has such an incredible personality - he was definitely human in a previous life! I have an very sensitive nose and I swear I must have been a cat before, really annoying to detect a smell and have everyone thinks your mad and 10 mins later everyone suddenly agrees with you lol xx0

my OH says I must have been a cat in a former life! I prefer to curl up in front of the fire than go out in the rain or snow or wind! I just say the stork dropped me off on the wrong Island! Should have been Jamaica! I love hot weather!
I have a very sensitive 'nose' too - I can't abide strong perfumes and even some washing powders I can smell (and identify), at a hundred paces!
I have been known to walk out of stores until someone wearing a really strong body spray has left (think links), as it triggers asthma attack.
and all my kids and grandkids KNOW - if you come to lunch please don't wear perfume/body spray as you will be sent to wash it off! its my ONE rule.0 -
That's horrible for you with your asthma, well not to worry if I ever come to visit rest assured that I won't have any perfume on
....hubby's gran continually buys me perfume for christmas even though she knows that I next to never wear it bless her, so I continually use it as really good raffle prizes, does that make me a bad person?
Does anyone else have a problem with the cat lying under the ironing board whilst they're trying to iron? Sam makes a beeline for me everytime I bring it out and it's sooo annoying! He lies under it and then starts trying to chew the cable so I move him and he comes straight back, put him out the room and he threatens to claw every bit of the carpet from outside the door or just batters the door continuously, my dd takes him away and he just runs straight back
Last resort now and I don't like doing it as he hates it but I just spray the water from the iron in his direction and it sends him flying, better that I suppose than a frazzled cat from the cable :rotfl:0 -
Nonnie, when Harley was a kitten he'd try and play with the iron cable whilst I was ironing. Now, he just lies stretched out on top of it as soon as I set it up!
I usually end up lugging him downstairs and shutting him in the living room with Hubby.0 -
no - Barnes is not interested in 'domestic tasks' - that's my job. But, my ironing board has one of those springy wires that holds the lead about a foot off the board and a socket underneath it.
this one is very similar.

I rarely iron if the grandkids are around but its handy when they are as it stops them grabbing the lead.0
