hi prosaver - lol, I remember that programme too.
nonnie - that's awful, but hopefully he is getting some help now? yes that does seem a 'serious' attempt rather than a 'cry for help'.
I do hope you (and he) can relax and enjoy your Christmas now though.
Duchy and others - I am having problems uploading pics from the sd card - not sure if the card is bu99ered so will have to ask son to have a look. as soon as he does - pics will be posted!0 -
Merry Christmas to you all. I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and New Year. See you all in 2016 x0

Thanks Meri, we're going have the best day we can. I hope you and all you family have a great time over Christmas and New Year.
Finally going to bed, who knew that a 17 and 13 year old could be so excited.....last year we were up at 5.30am so I don't expect much sleep either lol xx0 -
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas! Barnes did! he had presents from the grandkids and myself and wore a glittery stick on bow on his head until it fell off! he really got in the Christmas spirit! he did disappear during the 'present opening frenzy', but came down and joined everyone when it wasn't too manic! made me laugh, we were playing charades and there was a spare chair as I had decided to sit on the floor - Barney of course appropriated it and observed proceedings from there! sort of like 'royalty being entertained by the court jesters'!
He doesn't like 'people food Christmas dinner - so he had his very favourite Gourmet pearl pouch! and the shavings from the food slicer.
he is curled up now watching tv with OH. I think he had a good day!0 -
Barnes had a good day today! very peaceful! our only visitor was Atrix, who came to install the computer he had built for me for my/our Christmas present! What a wonderful present!
its terrific! I don't know myself as I Whizz round MSE and tinternet! you get used to your computer and think its 'normal' to wait for pages to 'load'.
Honestly, Atrix is self taught and is far better at IT than me - and I have IT qualifications by the shedload!
Well, Barnes can brace himself - the family are all coming for a 'buffet lunch' tomorrow! all fifteen of us crammed into my little house! still we managed on Christmas day by having two 'sittings'! one for the 'kids' plus one STARVING 17 year old. lol he was so hungry he decided it was ok to eat with the littler ones! and then the adults eat and OH does the washingup while I sort out the table and set out dessert and cheeseboard 'buffet style'.
we used to go up mums much larger house on Boxing Day for the 'buffet lunch' - but somehow this year it was decided to gather tomorrow instead.
lol. he had a little play with his Christmas presents during the night - he left them scattered round the living room!
So, how did your pets enjoy Christmas?0 -
I'm waiting for the Barnes sitting by the tree he supervised photo.
Sorry duchy! I need to get an SD card reader as the new 'puter' doesn't have an SD slot. may be a while................as I am not planning on shopping for a few days!
I will however, take some pics of Barnes if I can persuade him to sit by the tree!
another manic day as the 'family' came for a 'buffet lunch'......I forgot to put the veggie 'fake chicken roast' in for granddaughter so that bu99ered up my timings (it had to go in at too high a temp for everything else). so lunch was half hour late.
still, everything went well and we had a lovely time after lunch playing 'Catchphrase' and 'Charades', while Barnes spent time in the garden. he wanted to take advantage of it being 'damp' and not tipping it down! and perhaps escaping the noise and mess?
was cuddling him after everyone went home and found he had really quite bad 'matts' between his front legs! how did that happen? I really must deal with those tomorrow. never known that before. what IS he doing to get those? I think I may have to shave them off. at least the results wont be seen!
Please tell me your Christmas stories - I am dying to hear how YOUR christmasses went!0 -
Meri, my Christmas was quiet and uneventful, just how I like them
The cats don't even seem to have notice it's Christmas. None of them were interested by the tree decorations or wrapping paper although Tikka has played in the tunnel my SILs bought them. It appears it's an ideal place to lie in wait for the others to pass by and swoop at them.0 -
As long as you had the Christmas you wanted hismissus!
I think Barnes quite enjoyed his. apart from when the kids were all opening their presents! got a bit 'too much' for him. although he did enjoy us opening HIS presents for him!
Today we had Ava and her bro for her mum to work - Barnes was delighted! he squeeked non-stop for a few minutes, 'til she stroked him (actually, it was more a 'bang on the head with her fist', but he didn't seem to mind and purred and rubbed along her back).
He soon moved to his vantage point on the settee back and watched her. he KNOWS that her bro is a hazard to cats!lol
I have them tomorrow night for son and DIL to go out for NYE. Barnes will enjoy that. he does his best to go and join them for 'sleepovers', but we don't let him. neither of the kids are used to cats 'co-sleeping'!
and then it's only AVA next Wednesday as son is off on Monday! and grandson is back in school.
NYE is just another night to me - I have long hated going out then - and my idea of a great NYE is to stay in and have a 'normal' night!0
