family favourite !!!!! cat !!!!! cat where have you been did not know on mse you cannot say pu$$y cat0 -
first of all let me say a BIG THANK YOU to Nonnie! I got your card today and it put a big smile on my face all day! even though I wasn't looking forward to going back up mums to clear out more of her 'personal things' this evening. its really hard to decide which of her things to 'chuck' or give to charity or to keep for ourselves or for the grandkids. So much of her stuff holds so many memories. and I am really limited for space at my house. so thank you nonnie - knowing you are thinking of me has really given me a 'lift in spirit'.
and thank you all for your suggestions for rhymes for Ava - some of them I had forgotten about and some I don't know - I will google them later - and will enjoy sharing them with Ava.
yeah I did know you cant say !!!!! cat! there are lots of other animals you must not name too! makes life a bit challenging here on pets!
there is another program Ava likes called 'wussywat' - lets see if that's allowed!
edit - yay!!!!!!!!!!!!! so from now on we can call !!!!! cats wussywats!
and my 'wussywat' had some bad news today - his previous owner before Atrix told him that Barneys brother had died. apparently he shared Barnes's love of crinkly plastic and choked on some. how sad? We quickly found that Barney would even fish out crinkly plastic from the kitchen bin and try to eat it - so it ALWAYS goes straight in the outside bin!0 -
Your so welcome, I'm glad it cheered you up!
How sad about Barnes brother, that was awful, thank goodness that you were wise to that habit already.
Wussywat! I love it, but how dirty are people's minds these days that you can't say the p word on mse :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
hi nonnie - yeah 'wussywat' is funny isn't it? well it makes Ava laugh!!!
as for 'horsey horsey' - that baby weighs a TON! she needs a size 6 nappy because the ones for up to two year old don't even go round her! it would break my leg I think if I tried to play horsey with her!
I mean a basically harmless word like P U S S Y, you wouldn't think would cause offence would you? but you cant mention male chickens by name either! or female dogs..........and I think the common term for bovines is banned too!
barnes got up this morning and I think he was expecting Ava, she has been here every morning this week by 8.50am. 9.00am came and he went back to bed! and stayed there 'til lunchtime! mind you, it WAS raining a bit (despite the forecasters saying it would be dry).
But the sun came out after lunch so he has been in and out of the garden and its been quite warm too so he has had a lovely laze in the sun.0 -
aargggh - another 'stupid accident' today! gowd I am SUCH a klutz!
I was putting some cardboard boxes in the recycling bin (tall brown wheely bin), and I noticed that someone had chucked out a jam jar! I keep those as I have loads of fruit in the freezer to make jam and hardly any small jars - anyways I reached in to get it and couldn't quite get a grip on it, so went up on tippytoes and leaned right in, overbalanced and came down on my left ribs on the edge of the bin! owwwwwwwwwww!!!! soddit, that's the ribs I broke before! not to mention the embarrassment of being IN the bin with my legs waving merrily at passersby! (and yes I did hear laughter!).0 -
Oh dear, I'm afraid I'm giggling slightly here ... do hope your poor ribs recover quickly!Signature removed for peace of mind0

On the plus side you didn't go head first into the bin
Sorry to hear about Barnes' brother too, that's tragic
We've been away on holiday for a week and I felt bad about having to leave Harley home alone. Tikka and Casper were there but they were shut in the kitchen with the freedom to roam outside and Harley was shut upstairs with the freedom to choose whichever bed he wanted. I was worried he'd somehow get out through the catflap if he had access to the kitchen and I didn't want the other two "locked" in the house. Mum was worried he'd run off from hers so it was the only option. FIL went in to feed them each day (Scrappy was at grandma's as usual)
Well, it seems Harley didn't mind too much though he was pleased to see us last night. Judging by the cat hairs on the black sofa bed, he's been stretched out in there most of the time
We're dog sitting for Mum from tonight so, as we'll have his extension lead, we're going to give Harley a bit more "freedom" outside of our back yard in the hope he'll get his bearings and we can let him out on his own soon-ish (within reason) once he's had his boosters.0 -
er, actually, his missus - I DID go head first in the bin!
its great that Harley is settling back in - and the felines are all happy with your arrangements. its a worry isn't it because although you do your best to keep them safe and happy, while you aren't there anything can go wrong.
barnes will be happy tomorrow as I have Ava - he spent much of today on his own as I had to go up mums to do some more 'sorting out'.
and playtime with me has been severely limited by the painful ribs! no playing 'pingponguppastairs' or 'chasemousey' with me.
luckily, psychic cat seems to sense when I am not well and cuts me some slack! so he has quite happily got out the toys he plays with on his own. all I have to do now is train him to put them away afterwards! (fat chance of that methinks).0 -
-
rofl - yes the bin was upright, and I overbalanced and toppled right in! I had a stack of cardboard in my other hand so couldn't drop it and grab the edge of the bin in time!0
