awwww - bless him! I think he is going to be fine his missus. he obviously remembers people, places and 'things' such as the harness and lead!

    Good luck at the vets!

Barnes has been waiting patiently for it not just to stop raining, but the sun to come out - and now it has! so he is daintily picking his way round the wet spots in the garden to find somewhere dry to sit to people watch. Good luck with that Barnables! its sopping out there!

Thats great news about Harley - and an excellent example of why every cat should be chipped! :)

it was piddling down this morning! by the time it cleared up I had to go out so poor Barnes was in most of today. OH was in before me so barnes did get some garden time.
I find I have inadvertently got him 'trained'. I only have to go out and say 'Barnes IN'! and he comes running inside! I didn't mean to train him to do that - but its bluddy handy when I want to go out!

a very quiet day - apart from the phone going off every half hour! arrrrrggghhh - I was tempted to take it off the hook!
Barnes had a lazy day! spent all morning in/on bed and then expected his lunch, and for it to stop raining for him to go out! which it DID!

I decided to give him a VERY thorough grooming - oh dear, he needed it! his 'underfur' is growing in very thickly, and we did find a few matts! for chrissakes that normally happens in November/December! usually he is shedding fur now!
the last few weeks he has had a 'lick and a promise' at G&T time - which he didn't mind as long as he got dreamies and a treat stick!
he does NOT like me cutting matts out and he likes them being teased out with a comb even less! but he is LOOKING GOOD now! very smart!

    Hi Meri,

Harley got a clean bill of health on Wednesday from the vet. :)

Everything seems to be settling down now. Tikka's hissing at him less and Scrappy's stopped spraying around the house and is now quite content to share the bed with Harley at night.

it's strange to think that this time last week we hadn't even got the call about Harley and yet it feels like he's never been away.

Great news about Harley! and its lovely the other cats are accepting him back.

had the grandkids this morning - Barney went over to greet Ava who promptly sneezed over him! she is teething and her sneeze was rather snotty! he avoided her after that! he wasn't keen on us playing with balloons either - he went back up to bed when I started letting them whoosh around the room! amused Ava and her bro no end! Bro is back to school next week so it will just be Ava and me again. Although the bubbles I blew for her fascinated him!

I seem to have trained Barney to come in on command! I only have to step onto the decking now and say 'Barney IN', and in he runs! (giving me a dirty look in passing though).
never managed to train either of my previous cats to do anything they were told, so feeling rather smug! would it be too ambitious to try 'sit and stay' or 'rollover'?

not felt much like posting the last few days - sorry!
just feeling rather down, and don't feel like doing anything - Barnes has done his best to cheer me up though.
He must have enjoyed tobogganing down the settee back on his cat bed as I caught him deliberately pushing on the front of it today, and looking rather puzzled that it didn't move!
of course the brief period that it rained today was when he 'desperately' wanted to go out in the garden! I got yowled at because it was tipping down and wouldn't let him out! then stomp, stomp up the stairs for a good sulk! Him not me!
had Ava on her own today and he watched her play with bubbles for a while - or rather I blew bubbles, and she held her hands out and giggled when they 'popped' on her!

oh dear - Ava was teething and VERY grumpy today! but she did have a smile for Barnes and he went up to her and greeted her with his 'enquiring' yowl! I am sure she tries to say 'Barney', every time she sees him she goes 'Bar Bar'.......and cats on TV are 'Bars' too. did I say she is a real 'telly addict'? I have to restrict how much Cbeebies she watches - she would watch all morning if she could! so I turn it off at our playtimes or her snacktimes. and I know which are her fave programmes! she is allowed to watch Boj, Waybaloo (which I hate) and that thing with the fat chickens. Yeah I know - I spend a LOT of time playing with her - usually with Barney watching us. you can tell he is dying to join in, but knows she will grab him if he gets too close. he doesn't like the Whoooshy balloon game either!
poor kid was very much in pain today I think - so lots of cuddles and I must learn some new songs and rhymes - the old ones aren't distracting her - any suggestions? we already know
    The wheels on the bus
    row row row your boat
    round and round the garden
down in the water down in the sea
    London bridge
    humpty dumpty
    twinkle twinkle
    clap hands clap hands
    hickory dickory dock
    come little leaves
and I went through ALL of them today and usually she loves to repeat them ad infinitum - BUT, today they didn't distract her at all! help please if you can! she loves to clap hands or you to do 'actions' and tries to copy you so if you can explain actions as well..........I would be ever so grateful.

I forgot to give her her balloon to take home today - and saw barnes giving it a tentative pat then running like a bat outta hell when it bounced back at him! rofl!

Poor Ava! I'm trying to think of some more rhymes but I'm somewhat struggling, is she too wee to play horsey horsey on your leg? My two played that for hours, I usually ended up with a dead leg though lol, was worth it if it distracted them. I'll keep thinking xx
