So sorry to hear of your loss Meri. Little consolation but probably the best way to go.

hi all - thanks for all your kind words, they are appreciated.
I am all funeralled out! Bro, Sis and I met up to plan the funeral and I rang the funeral directors and was told we could come down this afternoon. this we did and as we already knew what we wanted (mum preferred plain, simple and traditional, so we stuck with that) it wasn't a horrid process. we have dealt with these funeral directors before and they live locally so are not strangers.
the coroner also got in touch with the results of the post -mortem and she did just go peacefully in her sleep as her heart just slowed then stopped. the form has gone to the registrar so my bro is hopeful he can get the Certificate tomorrow and arrangements can then be finalised next week.
I had to go food shopping as OH needs to eat! my apatite has vanished though. so am a bit shattered now.
DS1 brought his dog up earlier and Barnes was outside - but the look on his face when he spotted stella was priceless! I am sure he was ready to come in and boot her out! she got treated to 'The Glare' which had her moving out of sight of him! when they left I let him in and he searched the house to make sure she had gone. lol.

thank you tunathe cat. its a great comfort to have so many people offer words of comfort and support! Thank Tuna and Saffy for me too. you cant beat a good catcuddle!
the coroner faxed the correct form to funeral directors so they faxed it to crematorium and we got offered two slots. as we had already said we didn't want very early the FDs could reject the first one and accepted the second for us. We have some relatives who have a distance of about 50 miles to travel, so early morning at rush hour would not be suitable.12.30 on the 3rd of August is now fixed which we think is about right.

Barnes is ok, except he has decided now is a good time to be chucking up furballs! ear mites are nearly cleared up - he HATES having drops in his ears, and you have to hide the bottle as otherwise HE hides and refuses to come out even for dreamies.

Aaww Meri I'm so sorry for your loss, I'm also sorry that today was the first time I've been on here all week and therefore didn't post before now. I'm really pleased that your mum had a peaceful passing, I think that's what most people wish for when the time comes. It's nice that you have managed to have a few laughs and I'm sure that your mum will be laughing with you.

I'm glad that you have your family near to you and I'm sure that between Barnes and Ava you won't run out of cuddles, thinking of you and all the family xx
