I thought meritaten would appreciate this one...Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Nice one FreeBear!!! He could certainly use it when Ava is around - she loves to grab him.
Nonnie, barnes lost interest in the cats meouw so I passed it on to Atrix for his cats. He tells me they played for hours with it. exept for one who thought it was a pillow and insisted on sleeping on it - much to the other cats annoyance and they were swiping at him and shoving him to get off so they could play! So a great success in the Atrix household!
its been a miserable day today - gray skies all day, with some rain at times - Barnes wasn't inclined to go out - but its cleared up a bit now so he has gone out to enjoy some late sunshine.0 -
I am late posting, but this is the one place I know I will get understanding.
I had Ava and her bro this morning and poor bro wasn't well so his mum had an appointment up the doctors for midway through her work shift. she picked him up and ten minutes later I had a phone call from a hysterical woman who was screaming and crying and totally incoherent, I didn't even know who it was for a minute! I nearly put the phone down, but then realised it was my sister. She had just found my mother dead in bed. She begged me to come up mums and I couldn't, I was stuck with Ava until DIL came back so phoned OH and luckily he was working in the area and went straight up to be with sis. I felt awful. I know my sis is useless in a crisis, but phoned her back told her OH is on his way and to ring doctor. Which credit to her she did only to be told to ring police. she did that too, and OH arrived as we were on phone.
I was seeing to Ava but DIL was about an hour, then she had to leave Ava's bro with me to go back to work to tell them she had to take rest of day off. so that was another hour. Its been a bad day. at least I remembered to leave Barneys food and did his G&T and ear mites while waiting for DIL to come back.
mum was fine on Sunday - happy as larry, as she had ALL her grandkids and great grandkids visit. all her health checks showed no problems. she looked like she had passed in her sleep, but because she wasn't under the doctor she has to be assessed by the coroner now. we cannot do anything or make any arrangements and its driving me nuts. I take comfort in Barney cuddles but he is getting just a tad fed up of being scooped up and cried into. he is avoiding me now. Sorry to dump all this - but I do need to let it out. Sorry.0 -
You have my sympathies - I lost my mum a couple of months ago, and found it a difficult experience. The cat was a great comfort, always there when I needed a warm body to stroke.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

My thoughts are with you. Please take care of yourself at this very difficult time.0 -
So sorry for your loss. It must be such a shock.
It's probably too soon to do this but please try and take comfort in the fact that Sunday was a wonderful day for her. She went peacefully in her sleep with thoughts of a happy day.
Take care of yourself xxx0 -

Thank you all. yes, I do take great comfort in that mum had a very happy day and appeared to pass peacefully in her sleep. having nursed FIL and MIL through cancer I know when death comes gently.
but more bad news today - my cousin has stage four cancer and my DD was a victim of Card Fraud. it never rains but it pours! I did have one good laugh today...........my sis and I were discussing music choices for mum and sis mentioned mum loved Country and Western - and without thinking I blurted out 'Well, I am not having Johnny Cash playing 'Ring of Fire' in the Crematorium'!
I cant say much about Barnes, except he has been alone most of the day and he is now almost bald around his ruff - so he has been rubbed with aloe gel, had more ear stuff put in and a good talking to about scratching!0 -
I am sorry about your mum, and all the other horridities.I did have one good laugh today...........my sis and I were discussing music choices for mum and sis mentioned mum loved Country and Western - and without thinking I blurted out 'Well, I am not having Johnny Cash playing 'Ring of Fire' in the Crematorium'!
