    Debt-free and Proud!
We were hit by a cracking storm last night. Surprisingly, stressed Scrappy wasn't the slightest bit bothered and sat on the window sill looking out with us but Tikka was scared. We ended up making a den out of the ironing board and dressing gowns so she could hide under it.

wow - I love a good storm so rather envious of you his missus!

it was a bit muggy and drizly - if very large intermittent drops of rain can be called 'drizzle'. but no chance of a good thunderstorm.
after a rather grey wet start the skies cleared about 3.00 and its been beautiful since.
right - Barnes had a 'sleepy' day until the sun came out and now he is a bundle of energy! running in and out again like a mad thing.
I am off now to watch some more tennis! been a good Wimbledon day today - I even forgot to knit at times!

just a quickie between the matches I want to watch!
Been another sunny warm day - just how we like it! Barnes has happily sunbathed and just as happily found shady spots. he had to come in now and again for me to rid him of blackfly - nothing seems to touch the bu99ers and I am loathe to use chemicals.
apart from that its been quiet.................very quiet!

wow - what a great weekend for tennis! and with the harry potter film on Saturday nights........................haven't been near the forum! I spent last night on the computer catching the matches I hadn't seen! the tinternet is a wonderful invention!
had to laugh Saturday - the girls came down and the French door was open for Barnes to pop in and out, and grandchild K was sat by it, when Barnes came racing down the stairs through dining room spotted her at the last minute (too late to swerve) and jumped right over her head! which startled her as she was watching tv and didn't notice him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! rofl. she thought it funny too when she realised what barnes had done.

First day of 'childminding' Ava today - one very happy nanny and one ecstatic Persian! he hardly went out, and approached her very warily but allowed her ONE stroke, before backing off and just watching us play. Fair play, she was good as gold! I don't kid myself every day will be as easy though. but, she is quite happy to sit and play with her toys by herself! loves to be played with though and she is just as interested in Barnes as he is with her. It will be interesting to watch THAT relationship develop.
right, off to watch more tennis (interesting contest with Jokovich/Andersen).

Oops to Barnes and aaww to Ava, your certainly kept busy this weather, speaking of which it has really cooled down here the last day or so and looks to be a bit wet tomorrow, hope it's better for you.

I'll give you a laugh, took my mum and my dd to the airport this morning as they were going to Lourdes, mum has been a few times dd hasn't been but mum asked her to go as her 'carer' - only help really needed is pushing her in a wheelchair if they are going to walk any major distance other wise she's ok. So anyway dd has never been away without us before and I must admit I was struggling a bit walking away at the airport.....cue ds (13) who asks very straight faced "mum do you know who Hugh Jass is?" half dreaming I enquire and not in a particularly quiet voice "Who? Huge A$s? No idea" mmhh the penny then dropped, oh dear the joys of boys, I did laugh though and it made me smile :rotfl::rotfl:

hi nonnie - kids are great aren't they? don't worry - YOU get to embarrass them when they get a bit older!

the grandgirls came as usual yesterday and must have left the back gate open when they went home. I didn't notice and let Barnes out. of course, the gate being open nullifies the 'no going out of the garden rule' so he went exploring. took us half hour to find him under a neighbours hedge and behind the wall - he was dicing with death as it was a blessing her staffies were indoors! took me ten minutes and half a bag of dreamies to coax him out. I think it embarrassed HIM a bit to be carried all the way down the street - he had his face pressed against me! rofl - serve him right, he KNOWS he isn't supposed to leave the garden.

Tikka managed to get her leg trapped in the cat flap yesterday. I think she was following Casper through and it didn't read her tag so closed on her. Good thing we were home to open the flap or she may not have got herself out as she was screeching and flailing and obviously panicking.

She went and hid in the garages behind, took me ages to coax her out. Her head just kept peering through a tiny hole in one of the garage doors. Scrappy came out to help. As we have no back gate, I had to walk her round (not brave enough to pick her up!) so I had the pair of them following me around through the back streets, I must have looked a right sight!

Her leg seems ok, no swelling or limping. It's worrying though that there is a possibility of them getting caught in the cat flap though...

just a quickie as I am not feeling too great - got that ruddy throat bug that's been going around. feel as if my throat is full of Barneyfur!
He has been a good cat since Tuesday - no more 'great escapes'. and in by curfew - for which he gets a few dreamies - and I still haven't figured out how the hell he knows when its five to ten to sit by the French door?
He tried to have a conversation with Ava this morning - he sat and yowled and squeeked at her - but she has the sore throat too, so wasn't inclined to chat back! though she did watch him intently. and she was allowed to stroke him again! I think he is training her to respect cats.

you wouldn't imagine a cat being caught in a cat flap his missus! is there any way you could 'de-activate' it when both cats are out so it doesn't swing shut on a following cat?

NOTHING stops me enjoying tennis! except perhaps not being able to watch it live - it aint quite the same on iplayer even if you don't know the outcome.

still feeling carp but this too will pass. barnes is scratching his neck again - so will be doing a spot on tomorrow even tho its a few days early. and I need a few nice warm sunny hours where I can shut him outside - spray the house with staykill and sit outside for a while - then open all the windows etc to get the fumes out.

Ava had a sleepover last night, then I had her bro and her cousins (grandtwins and their sis) for lunch. so barnes had a busy afternoon keeping all those kids amused! and out of Ava's clutches!
