hi maddybee! welcome to Barnes thread! I used to take Barnes out on harness too - while training him NOT to go out of the back garden. he is very good about it - but if he can get out the front, he thinks the 'no out of the garden rule doesn't apply and I have to go retrieve him'!
gonna have to keep it short tonight as the forum keeps timing me out on posts.
    so today
Barnes had a lovely day spent mostly in the garden sunbathing. no wind to ruffle his fur. it did get a bit hot for him this afternoon so he found a nice shady spot.
he is still out there - I doubt if I can get him to come in until the sun goes down. maybe not even then - I might have to go and physically bring him in. he will sulk then for five minutes.lol

He looks like a lovely kitty!
Here's a picture of my Moomin https:// pbs. twimg. com/media/CFcP3gvWEAAlOTW.jpg (I had to put spaces in as daft MSE won't let me post links!)
I often find that mine only wants to walk BACK to our flat- does Barnes behave the same? He's always peering out the window, but as soon as he gets out he remembers that he doesn't like it out there after all!

jeez - I am not very popular tonight! had two grandgirls come down for sleepover and the youngest went home half hour ago - and now the other one wants to go home! hhhmmm - perhaps they just wanted supper?

gonna have one very disappointed cat now - he loves the bedtime routine! he loves to sleep with them.

but I do understand that as they get older - sleepovers at nannies are not so much fun.

Barnes is being fed dreamies while grandgirl C is waiting for daddy to pick her up. I hope he hurries up - because the packet of dreamies is now seriously depleted!

well Barnes didn't come upstairs at all last night. No grandgirls slept over so he sulked downstairs!
grandgirl G came for a visit this morning and I gave her some of Barnes toys that he doesn't play with to take home for their cats. jeez - Barnes didn't like it one bit! I got 'The Glare'.........as in 'Just what do you think you are doing with MY toys'? MINE!
And to make the point hit home - he then proceeded to get most of his remaining toys out of the basket to play with for a few seconds!
    lol - possessive cat!

its been a glorious day here in Sunny South Wales! warmish (meaning I am not planning on taking off cardi and boots)! but Barnes really did enjoy his garden time. lots of rolling around on the gravel, cooling down under the plants and generally having a nice time outside.
we did expect grandgirls down for Sunday lunch, but they had other plans. much to our disappointment. never mind, always next weekend! when I say 'our', I meant barnes and me! he kept going to front door - I think he was expecting them to run in any minute.
honestly, he is just like a dog sometimes!

argghhh - bit cloudier than the weather forecast - forecast! a cool breeze too - could see Barneys fur getting ruffled so he was in and out today!
bit of a boring day - the highlight was finding his second favourite toy at last! YAY! was hiding behind his toy basket! he proceeded then to cuddle it before rabbit kicking it into submission!
its a small mouse which 'squeeks'. even if he doesn't feel like playing, a few squeeks from the mouse gets him interested! doesn't even have any catnip in it - unlike his FAVOURITE toy.

I must have been forgiven for some transgression I wasn't aware of - he slept with me ALL night last night! I did check my eyebrows this morning but they were normal! I swear he didn't move all night! I settled down in bed and could feel him curling up behind my knees - and he was still there when I woke up at silly o clock! I did manage to doze a bit for another hour and he stayed with me - and didn't get up until I did.
he went out, but the sun hadn't reached the garden - so came in to nap on settee back.

Not sure if i mentioned that I picked up a 'slim ball' for Sammy and he certainly doesn't chase it all over the place but is swiping it about to get his dreamies out. Took him a wee while to work out that you had to use his paws to move it successfully rather than his head lol

Today is the first day that it has felt a bit warmer and the heating hasn't been on, hurray! Been a long time coming, hope your heating up a bit more as well Meri xx

hi nonnie - will look into 'slim balls'. Barnes might like one.

and I have had to put the heating on as I am FREEZING! its no joke when your normal body temp is a degree below 'normal'! lol - puzzles the hell out of medics - but its been that way since I had pneumonia about twenty years ago.

I had 'kisses' off Barnes this morning! first time ever that cat has voluntarily kissed me - and its my birthday today! I have had a lovely day - and so has Barnes, as he thought all the visitors were here to see HIM!
AND its Tuesday so grandgirls day - he loves that.
