I really do have to get him weighed! he sat down today and looked like a basketball! he was all round with this little head on top!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I can really feel the difference in him when I pick him up. I only have a half tablet for his worming next month and I don't think it will be enough. will have to make sure OH doesn't book any overtime and decide a day to make appointment up vets - oh and check bank balance first! because I will have to pay for booster shots too.
I couldn't persuade him to go out after his early morning outing - and the more he stays in the lazier he gets. I've noticed he doesn't get his toys out as much - though he is still up for a game with me. Usually. Sometimes though, he looks at me as if I have gone loopy and bu99ers off upstairs for a couple of hours.0 -
He sounds exactly the same shape as my Sam lol he's my wee fat snowball! Both the cats really love the toys you sent and especially the long brown one....I'm sure that Sam gets spaced out when he plays with it for too long, too much catnip methinks! xx0

glad they are enjoying the toys nonnie!
well, I woke up this morning and Barnes was already downstairs, squeeking at OH. made such a racket between them I had to get up. just as dawn was breaking..............
OH went off to work after making me a cup of tea and Barnes seemed quite agitated. I opened the living room curtains (OH doesn't as he doesn't go in there before work) and Barnes was THERE! squeeking loudly - ok he wants out. even though it was still quite dark. reasoning that cat-nappers would still be sound asleep in their beds I let him out. He didn't even stop to look up at 'Younextdoor'............he shot down to the gate - and there was this little black cat!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I watched them for five minutes and they both sat on each side of the gate staring at each other. now was the black cat waiting for him and he had seen it from bedroom window? did they arrange a 'date' by telepathy? intrigueing!
I have seen this little cat around but no idea who owns it. its rather small and I think its female. but not sure. always has a collar on so its not a stray as the collar colours vary.
Does Barnes have a new 'ladylove' or BFF?0 -
ooh, it sounds like "younextdoor" have some competition for Barnes's affection/attention. That will teach her for playing hard to get.0

Oh, I forgot to share Scrappy's mischievousness last night.
I'd baked some meatballs in the oven set to be ready when we got home from work. We were late in however and some of the meatballs looked like lumps of coal, so I rescued what I could for my lunch and put them in a Tupperware with the pasta and sauce and left it on the side to cool. (You can see where this going can't you...)
We were sat eating tea (I always have an emergency "something and chips" to just throw in the oven) when we noticed Scrappy under the table nibbling on something. He had indeed stolen one of the meatballs and was tucking into it. He then realised that the meatball was rather spicy, left three quarters of it and gulped down half a bowl of water. The little darling has an orange tomato sauce stain on his cheek too!0 -
rofl - what a rascal Scrappy is his missus! I have to say that Barnes is very, very, good about not stealing human food - only once has he done that and he ignored a cooling roast chicken in favour of licking the fat from the roasting tin. Sunday lunch was 'gravyless' that day. BUT, on the bright side, at least we had the roast chicken! First cat Timmy would just have nicked the chicken! he was an awful food thief!
my 'boys' were quiet this morning - so quiet I didn't wake until 8.45!
let Barnes out after he had had a bite of breakfast and a nice drink - he dashed down to the gate but BlackCat wasn't there. so he has driven me nuts by wanting to go out every half hour! Raining this morning so he got towelled off again TWICE - and that puts him in a bad mood with me. so he got revenge by sitting on my lap when I was trying to knit - yes, he finally crawled into my lap and I KNOW it wasn't because he wanted affection, it was to stop me knitting!
Newsflash Barnes - I really enjoyed having you on my lap and stroking you - even though I said you were being a PITA!0 -
Oh they frequently lick any baking trays, pans and dishes I leave lying around whilst we're eating but it's a long time since any of them have stolen food, mind you we usually hear the rattle of foil or plastic bag so maybe they've just been caught before they could actually do any damage.
Then again, it wasn't that long ago Casper drag a loaf of bread off the worktop and mauled at it causing a right mess...0 -
bread? lol - perhaps he thought he could make some 'bait' for the birds?
Barnes took one look outside today - and decided it was another 'stay inside' day. Don't blame him - I did too! really fancied going over town as I wanted to pick up that new 'knitting' series thingy - the cost of knitting needles and yarn today makes it a real bargain. and I was hoping the needles would be a size I use a lot. if not the two balls of yarn will come in handy! if not the size,I wanted to pick up some 4mm needles - my set have got the coating wearing off and I can feel them grating on each other. but, it was just too cold and slippery underfoot - I am scared of falling, as even a slip can mean I am in agony for weeks.
so Barnes spent virtually all day on settee back! apart from food and G&T.
he did observe the snow from there - with huge eyes! seemed to have no desire to go and investigate it though.0 -
Atrix came down today and we filmed Barnes catching dreamies and posted it on youtube, so here is the link
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RkWils_s3U
he wont make the Welsh rugby squad with those fumbled catches though - his apologies for being a bit off his game!
we did another one of barnes do his sword swallowing act with a treat stick - but the camera work is a bit dodgy!

normal post now.
Atrix came down so that I could help him with a letter - and its taking a lot of time the issues are so numerous and complex - so it was really good of him to take time out to video Barnes. Thanks luv!
he showed me how to do it and married us (Barnes and me) to Youtube, and how to upload the videos- but I really do not think I grasped even the basics! may take a few 'goes' before I get it.
point a normal camera at Barnes and he shuts his eyes! but he doesn't seem to realise the tablet can 'steal his image'. So I am thinking what to video him doing next.0
