Well I would post a story about my pets but all they seem to do at the moment is sleep! They definitely don't like this cold, icy weather that's for sure.

aw his missus - NO stories at all? even from years past when they didn't sleep 24/7? Though Barnes IS sleeping more these cold winter days.

But, we had a light snow flurry this afternoon and I opened the door and invited him out.................he declined and went off back to his perch to sleep again! I had thought he may want to investigate those huge fluffy white things falling from the sky!

Tuesday, so Grandgirls came in after school. K was lying on the floor in front of the fire (don't freak - its a 'fake' one - electric) and Barnes sneaked up behind her and gently patted her hair. She tipped her head back to look at him and he licked her forehead! then sniffed her hair all over! what was that about?

Oh, and he didn't come down for Breakfast this morning - when I went up to get dressed he was fast asleep right in the middle of the spot I sleep in. he didn't even open an eye while I was there...........lazy beggar! he didn't miss his G&T and his lunch though!

Nope I've never heard of the snowfields so I googled it... I'm none the wiser lol thinking maybe it's on higher ground where the ski resorts are, definitely higher up. The snow is back on here tonight and its lying but I don't think it'll last too long probably as we live 5 mins walk from the shore front and the salt tends to keep it at bay, much to the disappointment of the kids. Cats both ventured outside a few times today and that was quite impressive considering it stayed pretty much at 0c all day, a tad baltic I must say

Did you happen to watch the funny cat programme on channel 5 at 8pm tonight? It was quite amusing although the kids and I had watched quite a few of the clips they used on YouTube previously, but if your bored and wanting to pass an hour it might give you a giggle.

As soon as my dd picks sam up he always sticks his nose right into her ear and has a good old sniff and purr, anyone other cats do this? He only does it to her and then cuddles his head into her neck, he's such a big sook but it's very cute to watch....drives my dd nuts though :rotfl:

Meri, I suppose they have their moments and I'm sure they've done exciting and mischievous things in the past.

There could be fun and games tomorrow morning when DH is taking Tikka and Scrappy to the vets for their annual jab on his own. His name is going to be mud in our house tomorrow when I get home from work, they'll probably blank him until Saturday, hee hee!

nonnie - I didn't see the cat programme. But, I often go on youtube to watch funny cat vids.
hmmm - so Carol Kirkwood is making up her own geographical terms! and I think she is a Scot too? rofl
his missus - poor DH! do your cats blame you for the vets transgressions? I doubt I could get OH to take Barnes to the vet on his own - he is an absolute wuss when it comes to any medical 'procedure' at the vets. and he is a strapping ex-rugby player. I remember one time my staffy got a grass seed embedded in her eye and we had to take her in as an emergency, the nurses had left and the vet tried to rope him in to assist, rofl, he went paper white and backed rapidly away. So I did it.

Barnes sat outside for nearly an hour this morning! it was slightly warmer than yesterday, but rather dank and not quite drizzling IYKWIM? his coat was very damp when he came in so he got the towel treatment again! much to his annoyance. he disappeared upstairs til lunch. Is 'younextdoor' really worth risking pneumonia, I wonder? I know she was there, cos he kept sneaking glances at her and 'preening'.
for revenge he kept attacking my knitting wool this afternoon!
I decided to do a cardie for Ava from an old pattern mum gave me. it was a fancy 'rib' design. but when I started knitting the back it looked nothing like the pic! strange, but then I did think that
    row 1 'K1 P1 K1
    row 2 'P1 k1 P1
was 'Moss stitch' not rib. so on reading through the pattern.........it has different pattern instructions for the back, the fronts, and the sleeves! so got a magnifying glass and managed to identify the pattern is the one with instructions for the left front! bit late to complain to the publisher - I think its from the 1950s judging by the hairstyles!

sorry, but struggling again to find anything to post! Barnes seems to have gone into 'semi-hibernation'. he sleeps - a LOT! he seems to have realised that summer is over and he really doesn't like winter outdoors. bit like me.
he didn't even want to go out this morning - and usually he is waiting at the French doors. today, he got up for his breakfast, came in living room to see what I was doing, and I opened the door and ...........he looked at me like I was insane and headed back upstairs!

the cold is making my Giz stay in most of the day and night.

He's currently had a thing for dark places - trying to get in small dark spaces caused by stuff on top of each other like the boxes in the corner or a pile of cushions - he tries to get in the space even though his head doesn't fit!
Cats don't have owners - they have staff!! :D:p

Meri, I would just like to point out that DH made the vets apt knowing I would be at work so he would have to go it alone. They beared a grudge until mid afternoon when they both started to fee l dozy and curled up on him to sleep it off.

Tikka needs some dental work doing soon. The vet she will let us know when it's dental month so it will be a bit cheaper. DH didn't think to ask if she needed a scrape/clean or extractions. She ask DH if he'd looked at Tikka's back teeth recently. HA! Does she think we're bonkers? The only time we see Tikkka's teeth is when she yawns or hisses.

Scrappy got a clean bill of health, though she said his heart was racing. Stressed cat at the vets... not surprising really ;)

Tikka actually ventured out over the shed roofs this morning. She was a bit wobbly as they're still covered in snow.

Barnes has had another 'duvet day'! apart from G&T he hardly moved from settee back. oh and his dreamie catching skills are improving - he caught three on the trot in his mouth!!!!!!!! and seemed very pleased with himself. (Aldi have brought out a 'dreamie' lookalike, and I tried them as they were only 89p, slightly larger than real dreamies, but he enjoyed them anyway).
and I have DG1 and one of the grandtwins for a sleepover. one has Aspergers and one is ADHD, and Barnes adores them both. he is currently curled up on settee watching 'Marley and Me' with them. Personally, I think he likes that film as it shows dogs as 'stoopid'!
I am taking advantage of a quiet five mins to post! because its hard work with those two - I have to keep them busy and entertained or they are into mischief! my mantra with the Aspergers/ADHD grandkids is: The devil makes work for idle hands! it also helps if you keep feeding them..............they cant get into trouble while eating!

We played with Barneys game that nonnie sent - but the bu99er cheats! he dives under the cover now to get that darned mousey thing! then pretends to ignore it, then dives on it, catches the tail and lets it go - its providing quite a lot of fun for him (and the enthralled audience).

sorry, other grandgirls slept over last night and it was late by the time I got them settled down in bed.

Barnes spent an hour or so in with them but when I went to bed he elected to come in with me. then we had a rather strange game............he seemed to be settling on my feet then moved up the bed a bit, I raised my head and looked at him and he 'froze', I settled back down and felt him 'kneading' his way up to my knees.........lol, I looked at him again and he froze and stared back at me.......we did this a few times more and he was up to my tummy and I started laughing and said 'Whats the time Mr Wolf'! (an old game).he sneezed and went back to my feet. Then it started all over again - I thought this was a bit surreal - he got all the way up to my tummy again - jumped off and went in with the kids! Weird Cat! What was that all about?
Oh and he was purring like a Harley Davidson motorbike - he enjoyed it even if I didn't have a clue what this game was!
