In Poundstretcher last night I got:
3 underbed storage boxes
set of 3 baking trays
3 dryers/airers to go over the radiator (in a set, she'll only need one so I'll keep the other 2)
a washing up bowl
washing up brush
all for £18. Lots more to do yet, this weekend will be the big shop then she starts packing for moving in next weekend.£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250

This has been an amazing forum, and since I started it several weeks ago I have so many wonderful ideas, and I would like to thank everyone who has contributed.
HOWEVER, my son calmly announced on Sunday ( six days before departure ) that he would not be going to Uni, but returning to retake year 13. Whilst he did reasonably well in his results he knows ( as do we ) that he could have done sooo much better.
So thankyou but lets start this all over again in 11 months time, maybe this time I could buy somethings as I go along.0 -

If he retakes his exams is he planning on doing a different course?
I only ask as one of my friends child is resitting but they have been accepted to do the course they want to just at a different uni.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

He will do exactly the same course , but hopefully at a slightly better uni. The most important thing is that he has decided not to settle for what he got, but to try again and get what he deserves. Time will tell......0

Sarah - your DS has made a brave and rationale decision - you must be very proud of him?
I think buying things as you go along really helps. The other thing I can now recommend is looking for a Freebie site on facebook, people often offer stuff suitable for Uni - I wish I had found it before I bought all new.
Good luck to your DS, I hope he achieves the grades he wants this cycle.

DD halls freshers events have now announced that every event next week is compulsory fancy dress and they hope to tell them the themes this Saturday. Only problem is DD moves into Halls on Sunday so a bit blooming late!

She needs to locate the local charity shops - perfect costumes are not necessary. Lots of imagination will do the job
